Mommas, do you believe there’s such a thing of “spoiling” your newborns?

I have some people tell me that I spoil my newborn by holding her too much. She is a month old. Anytime she cries I tend to her. I give her contact naps when she’s fighting sleep and I hold her when she wants to be held.

Does this bother anyone else like it bothers me? I don’t know, this is my first baby and I want her to feel secure and loved.

Whoever told you this is really broken. All she knows is you! I wish I could back and hold my baby even more at that age. You hold her and cuddle her as much as you want!!

there’s no such thing. they can’t even form habits yet and there is scientific evidence that supports not letting them “cry it out” bc it literally stresses them out and can alter their nervous system. so no ur not spoiling ur child.

Yeah I don’t believe there is such thing as that either , baby’s way of communicating is crying . Some people are just trauma dumping .

I agree, you are your baby's world! Love her as much as you can 😊 showing love is not spoiling. You got this, mama!

Some places say 1st year they dont know others say they may start to understand after 9 months. But as of right now no you sre not spoiling they are communicating their wants and needs . My husband says to let my baby cry a little and I say no because if he's crying its for a reason and its my job to find out why. Maybe he was startled. Maybe I had him and laid him down and realized he was no longer in his safe plac3 as when he f3ll asleep. Maybe he's hungry or went to the bathroom. But I am there to tend to his needs. So no u can not spoil them this young

I’m so sorry people are saying that to you. You hold that baby as much as you can.

God gifted my my rainbow baby and I am spoiling myself because who knows if he will give me the chance at another

You can’t spoil a baby. Their first natural instinct is to want their mama. You keep doing you and hold and love on that baby because you can never get this time back!

Baby’s cannot be spoiled!

Please pleeeaaasse listen to your heart, to your gut, listen to your momma instincts. Listen to that sweet baby.
DONT listen to other people.

I don’t believe you can spoil a newborn. They aren’t neurologically developed enough to form habits yet. And to be honest, The only person I think has an opinion on how a newborn is treated is the person who birthed them. So what if you want to hold your baby 20 of 24 hours? You hold that baby as much as you want! You earned those cuddles! Right now all that baby knows is YOU. 💚

Breast feeding - should I give up

My little lady is 11 days old and I have been combi feeding her with breast and formula.
To keep my supply I have been pumping around 3 times a day as baby girl isn’t always keen on the boob. ( always offer boob before formula) I have also been giving her bottles of my breast milk.
My boobs have been tender since I started but today I have never felt pain like it. My right boob I can’t even touch. It’s so sore and I have a big bruise on the side. Feeling a bit deflated and feeling to just give up as it’s just far too painful!

Any tips?

Refusing room temperature milk

My 4 month old suddenly won’t drink expressed milk that’s been sat at room temperature. He will only drink it when I heat it up. Anyone else had that?

8 week old still not taking 4oz 🫠

I don’t know what we’re doing wrong, again 😅
LO will not take more than 4oz sometimes 3oz at every feed. I try to extend the feed window to around 3 hours which is a push and then she just takes that amount.
She is on nitramigen milk which apparently doesn’t taste as nice as normal milk, so don’t know if she’s just taking what she needs, but even in the day I do my best to keep her busy to try and extend her feed window but nothing seems to be working as she boots off at every opportunity til she’s fed 🤷‍♀️😭😆
I know every baby does their own thing but I thought she’d have increased by now.
Also not sure if she has reflux as any bigger amount like 4oz she will be slightly sick after it (only a mouthful).

Anyone else in a similar boat or have any advice?
