I don’t know if it’s just me but I don’t have any sympathy or patience when my husbands ill and leaves me to deal with our toddler? I feel like you don’t have time to be ill when you’re a parent you just have to get on with it.. I don’t think mums would get away with passing their child over if they were sick, we are just expected to do both still? Maybe it’s just me? He has a stomach bug so it’s nothing that serious..

I must be lucky as when I’m poorly my partner and his mam take over looking after my toddler and baby. And if he’s poorly then I just crack on with looking after both of my children and he’ll help when and where he can while poorly but I prefer him not to as I’d rather minimise the chances of catching whatever he has.
Only time I have no patience or sympathy if he’s hungover from a night out which happened once.

Girl I agree with you and I realize I might be an asshole. But, my finance and I are expecting our first and I genuinely cannot stand when he complains that he’s sore or his back hurts, or literally anything that has to do with complaining about pain.
He did even go to the doctors to get an xray because his hip down to his ass was hurting soo bad that he “needed” to check it out.
And I’m just here like loooool I don’t even complain about my hip locking, back pains or fact that’s my ribs feel like they’re being squashed….
And it drives me BONKERS

I think you might feel that way because maybe if you’re sick he doesn’t give you any time and space to feel ill? You still have to take care of your child regardless so it makes sense why you’d have little to no patience. If my husband were sick I’d take care of our baby no problem but that’s because he does the same for me

Tbh he should also take over when your I’ll to look after the child and u do the same but obviously the problem is that he doesn’t do that when your I’ll but expects you to do that x

I think thats how it should work honestly if one partner isn’t feeling well then the other partner steps up. My husband and I do this because for one I don’t want my baby getting sick from the sick partner and also they need time to heal, now if it lasts many days I’d be annoyed but It’s expected for my relationship. Now if your partner isn’t picking up the slack when you’re sick that validates why you should feel that way honestly
