Chatty kids

Hi everyone. I'm turning to here because I don't know who else to ask and I'm just so ashamed I feel this way. My girl talks all day long. Non stop. I love our chats and her little voice and she amazes me with some of the things she comes out with but it does get draining at times and then it does start to agitate me and I hate that I feel this way! I could never tell her to stop talking or ignore her so I respond to every conversation but inside I get so annoyed. It mainly come on since I've had my baby who is 8 months old. I don't know if it's hormones or just being over stimulated but I don't want to feel this way. Any advice is greatly appreciated and if you have a very chatty kid let me know!

My little boy is very similar, he starts talking from the moment he wakes up, and chats or sings until he falls asleep. Hes never not making noise. Anyone that spends a decent amount of time with him comments the same thing so I know it’s not just my maybe biased opinion.

I also love that he’s so chatty, but it does make it hard to have any other sort of conversation /ring the doctors, that sort of thing. The only time it really annoys (not sure if that’s the right word) me, is when I’m really trying to concentrate, so driving somewhere new, road works etc, or just trying to do a few things at once.

When I’m driving, I will just ask him if he can stop talking to me for 5 mins so that I can concentrate. I’ve explained to him that I sometimes need quiet when driving somewhere new.

I think maybe your hormones could have something to do with also, but I also think there’s nothing wrong with a lot of noise just getting a bit irritating sometimes, so don’t feel bad x

My stepdaughter (who is old enough to know better) just said to me ‘your tummy must really hurt because it is HUGE’

She then went on to say ‘it was big when you were pregnant and it is still so big now’.

I didn’t really react much. I just said ‘it’s not kind to make comments like that about somebody’s tummy, it will upset them’.

Just to add, I have been a permanent fixture in her life since she was 18 months old and we have a loving and positive relationship and am also friends with her mum (who split from my partner amicably and also remains friends with him)
So it is not like she has been poisoned against me and feels like she needs to defend her mum or anything.

I am really hurt by this. My confidence is already so low.

Mental abuse for a parent

I'm in my 40s and pregnant, for the first time. At the moment, I have nowhere to go so I moved in with my Dad. He has told me to get rid of the baby, told me I'm a whore because even though I'm separated from my legal husband, I'm pregnant with someone else's kid. Constantly tells me he doesn't care if I eat or if I'm sick and to keep it to myself. Etc..... so I have been trying to not bother him and do my own thing but he still says horrible things and puts me down all the time. He says I'm like my Mom and how horrible she is. It's constant verbal abuse. I'm trying so hard to not let it stress me out but how can I fix this or not let it effect my baby or myself anymore? I'm on the waiting list for section 8 but I'm also disabled and can't work ATM. I have tried talking it out with him but the more I beg him or ask him what is the problem? I get worse back. What would you do?

Is this carrier any good?

I struggle with back pain and would prefer weight to be more distributed to my waist and hips than my back.

Confused mummy

My baby will be 18months old in a few days, and she is still nursing(breastfeeeding). My plan is to stop nursing her at 20months. My husband wants her to start nursery in a month’s time but i have mixed feelings about it as i work from home with one day away from home.
She has never had bottled milk but she uses sippy cups or a normal cup quite well to drink her water.
Please advise on how to go about weaning her and the nursery bit ( is it a good idea or it it too early for her?)
Thanks

Sleep

Hey, my baby is 4 weeks old and has passed their birth weight. I have had two different advices from health care visitor and midwife. I normally wake my baby up for feeds at night time after 3/4 hours which is the advice I was told due to my baby being small, I was also told my baby should wake me up for feeds if they are hungry and to let them sleep. I think I just have high anxiety about sids and unsure whether to let my baby sleep as when I do wake them they are super tired and only feed for around 5 minutes and go straight back to sleep and then wakes me up on their own every 2.5 hours after that. Do you let your baby sleep if they do or should I carry on with the four hours. They are soley breastfed
