Hey girls, I’m 35 weeks on Friday and had an extra scan yesterday to check placenta placement.. the placement was fine but the baby measured at 98th centile for weight, head and tummy. They always have measured big but yesterday they seemed more concerned. They’re testing me for the third time for diabetes (the first 2 were negative). I said I was worried something was wrong and she replied “we are too, that’s why we’re doing the glucose check again and having an extra scan”.. she also said try not to panic and that none of this is my fault.. it made me think that I should be panicking?! Has anyone else had this?

I had this done! Had a scan at 28 weeks - found out that baby was abit big and was already under 4 pounds.
Had two negative tests for diabetes but then my third one came back positive. I’m now 34 weeks and baby was 5.5 at 32 weeks scan x

My first baby was the same they predicted he would be 10-11lbs and had me doing the finger pricking for weeks but my results never really suggested GD. Turns out he wasn’t as big as they thought after making me have an induction at 38 weeks to get him out early he was 7.13lbs.

Had this with my first, kept doing gd tests, all negative, estimated to be 10-11lbs so pushed for an induction. I didn’t really want an induction but they scared me with mentioning shoulders getting stuck and tearing blah blah baby ended up being 7lbs10 and the induction put him in so much stress he needed resuscitated on arrival. The measurements can be so wildly off I wouldn’t worry, I wish I hadn’t panicked and let my body do what it needed to do x
