I love my 4 months old daughter. I would do anything for her. I’m a first time mom and I’m doing this basically alone (no village). My husband is at work from 8am to 5:30pm and when he comes home he’s no help. It’s always an argument if I can get a few minutes of help from him.
I also have been dealing with EXTREME back pain from my emergency c-section that I don’t sleep at night.
My daughter has been different today. She’s constantly crying due what seems to be from pain, I’m assuming a mix from gum (teething pain) and reflux. For the first time today she’s puking a lot of her formula milk out. She usually spits but today she has extra burps and a lot more puke. I’ve been comforting her all day. It’s raining so we can’t go out for a walk today.
Since I don’t know how else to comfort her except hold her, read her books, sing to her, pat her on the back, give her snuggles, walk around the house with her, nothing helped. She just kept crying and screaming to the point that I screamed. This is NOT like me. I then put her in her crib and turned on the mobile crib music and left her for 30 seconds to go cry. I know we go through a lot as moms, but I feel horrible and started to cry and then after a few seconds I held her. I ended up giving her 0.25ml of baby Tylenol, and then held her again, I apologized to her while still crying and she smiled and reached out for my face. I feel horrible like I should be able to handle my emotions more.
Again, I’m going through a lot. I miscarried twice, had a surgery, and she is from an emergency c-section. My family lives abroad and I have no one except my not-so-helpful husband. It’s not an excuse. I feel really alone and she depends on me, so I shouldn’t have screamed. I am breaking inside. From pain in my back and lack of sleep, lack of support, it just broke me. I love her so much and I’m so happy she chose me. I don’t know why or what to do, but I have so much guilt and shame

I am so sorry you feel this way! I totally get your frustration when baby isn’t cooperating or you don’t know what’s wrong. It’s okay to scream and cry sometimes and let it out. You are doing an absolute amazing job - you’ve already done 4 months of it and it will hopefully get easier with time!
Remember to take some time, even 5 mins to yourself, even if that means having a nice shower or doing some skincare.
You are certainly not a horrible mum. The way I see it is you’re a mum trying her best, doing everything while trying to recover fully. It really is hard with no support but this is why being a mother is the most hardest but rewarding job in the world (men could never and will never get it!!). I hope things get easier for you and maybe when baby is big enough you can visit your family abroad and stay for a while?
You are doing amazing mama, you should be proud of yourself 🫶🏼

I was going to say giver her some Tylenol because hmshe is most likely teething, poor thing! Your husband needs to help. My husband works nights and still helps out. You need help...

I've got to say it is extremely hard when they're that age and they're crying and you have no idea why or how to help them. In a perfect World then no, you wouldn't have screamed. But you're going through a TON practically on your own and you're only human, even as an adult we can't always hold it together. I found myself screaming or shouting a few times when I wish I hadn't, but I always make sure to apologise to my little one and as she got older I explained to her that mummy felt really frustrated, but that was not kind and I shouldn't have done that. You'll find they're very forgiving and she won't even remember when she's older.
But I do think you should find some help or support somewhere where you can, just to make sure it doesn't get worse, you need to look after yourself too ❤️

I am so sorry you feel this way! When they get a bit older it gets a bit easier! It shall pass! What I did/do I make an organic camomile and keep dipping the dummy it into the tea and it helped a lot!
Regarding your husband, I think men take awhile to adjust to their new rule! That’s why it’s very important to talk and get crazy from time to time haha to make sure they will eventually understand!! Good luck momma you are doing great ❤️

Oh mama 🫂 You’re doing the best you can and know how! I’m in the same boat— baby’s age, no village, basically solo parenting so I know how hard it is! You are NOT alone! Please give yourself grace. Yes you’re right it’s not an excuse, but those are very good *reasons*.
May I kindly suggest outsourcing help? If your husband isn’t much help, then he needs to get you the help you need. That’s right, I said NEED, as in necessity, not luxury. Whether it’s with childcare (even for a few hours a week), getting meals delivered, or housekeeping. It’s either he spends $$$ or it’s time he steps up.
There are other forms of help I think you can also benefit greatly from. Physical therapy and talk therapy. If you’re close to your family, get on facetime with them often or keep an ongoing chat with them. Schedule these things if you have to. Social connection is powerful!
I’m so proud of you for doing it all on your own! When you look at your baby, remember that’s all you girl! YOU DID THAT 😤💪🏼

We have all been there. If not they must have had some serious help or easy baby. I know I had it good with my oldest when my youngest came via c section. A baby that is taken out via c section benefits from a gentle massage. You gently squeeze their shoulders, arms, body, legs etc similar if they came out the womb. I know that sounds absolutely insane lol, but it worked for me. I did these massages every night until my youngest didn't have episodes of crying! I'd say maybe 3 or 4 weeks. I didn't know how hard I could go so I went with my gut. Babies who are also taken out VS vaginal birth I've been TOLD* can benefit from seeing a pediatric chiro for these reasons. However I've seen enough & mixed reviews I just Google the c section infant massage method myself & did it myself. Range of motion helps, arms, legs, stretch peddle etc. But also if baby is throwing up milk, I'd wonder about formula if formula feeding or breast (diet) I'd go down a grade in formula if you can there's a ladder to go by
