Pregnant after emergency c section

We just found out we are pregnant and I am so so happy! We did have an emergency c section after a failed induction in Sept of 2025.

All in all my recovery was good I was running and lifting by 12 weeks and I have healed one thing I have not anticipated is the mental aspect of the c section. I am worrying at night now about it.

How did you handle the pregnancy after an emergency c section?

Following because I’m curious about this too, had an emergency c-section at 35 weeks from preeclampsia at 36yo, but I’m wondering if I can even have a vbac now if we decide to have another child.

I opted for a elective csection so I was incontrol of it this time as I was told my chances of another emcs would be higher

I had an emergency c with my first and was prepping to do a VBAC. My doctors were all very supportive. I had some other health things that indicated needing a repeat c, but nothing to do with my previous one. In your case, the only thing I can think of with a doctor being hesitant is how close together your pregnancies are. My doctors recommended not getting pregnant minimum 18months, but preferably 24months, after my c section to allow my body time to heal.

I was definitely nervous, I really wanted a VBAC but had preeclampsia again. I had another c-section because of it, we were able to get it scheduled though once the baby was technically full term. Without it being an emergency situation it went smoother and I healed quicker. Mentally it was stressful because it’s a surgery, and it wasn’t what I wanted to do (the first c-section freaked me out)

As far as the pregnancy leading up to the birth, I treated it the same. I tried to eat healthy and exercise. And be excited. Talk with your doctor about the birth plan. Mine was ok with letting me do a VBAC until it literally was no longer an option.

Kit days

I’m just curious to see what everyone else has done. I’m due to go back to work on the 1st September, when the funded hours are available. But the closer I get to returning, the less I want to do my kit days. My job is stressful enough, and they’ve even tried to get me to work more kit days for this reason. I’ve spoken to people that started them, then didn’t do the rest because they realised they would rather spend time at home. Then others have said it’s helped them get a routine (as such).
So just curious to see what others have done/are doing 🙂

What was your elective section experience

I'm honestly terrified of going overdue! I don't want an induction or a c section! But 25% of inductions end in section so I would rather bypass all that pain...

Can you share your stories? How was baby and how was your recovery?

Is this normal?

I’m 33+4W and my stomach feels really tight, I have sharp pains in my pelvis when I sit down or go to pee, and I keep getting cramps low down. I’m struggling to sleep at night because of how uncomfortable my stomach feels too. Is this normal at this time?
