So before my partner and I had our daughter we both agreed we wanted to be one and done and being pregnant/ going through child birth etc only confirmed that for us.
I didn't love pregnancy, had a very traumatic birth and we both know that by only having one our daughter gets the very best of us physically, mentally and financially.
When our daughter was 6 months old my partner got a vasectomy. However from time to time I get pangs of guilt...
Are we robbing our daughter of something by not giving her a sibling?
Are we stunting her confidence and ability to interact with other children? (She goes to nursery 4 days a week so I doubt it but it still pops into my mind!)
Etc etc etc
Deep down I know we have made the right decision and like I say, he has a vasectomy so it's done now anyway, but as mum's we feel guilty about everything right!? Would love to hear from other one and done mommas ❤️
(If you're going to comment to tell me she needs a sibling please don't bother, like I say - it's done so you won't be achieving anything positive)

Siblings do not equal a happier childhood or a lifelong friend. I know very few people who have good relationships with their siblings. Your child isn't missing out on anything. Having siblings doesn't give you confidence magically or make you better at socializing. If you are happy being one and done, then keep giving your child your best. They will be just fine.
