If you were spending money on yourself for the first time in 2 years (I just went back to work after 2 years of being a sahm) and your husband made comments about ‘just cause you have it doesn’t mean you have to spend it’ or ‘there’s more important things’ would you be upset? Or?

Depends on what it was but my partner would probably be down for me to blow my first paycheck and then get serious. If I was buying random shit no one ever needs he would say something and i'd agree with him, but if it was perfume or self care things, clothes etc he'd be asking me if I need more money 😆 depends on his tone too

Unless it was a situation where maybe money was very tight and I spent a ton of money all at once and even then there would be a better way to start a conversation about it. It’s sad to me that you waited so long to get something for yourself. A girl I worked with said something that stuck with me. She said that after the baby comes, everyone kinda forgets about mama. Just because you have a baby doesn’t mean you can no longer enjoy the little things you used to. Circumstances matter for sure but I would have been upset.

If you want to argue with him I suggest asking him to explain why you're not an important thing to spend money on or why he wants to give financial advice when hes not been able to afford you being comfortable enough to spend money on yourself for 2 years
