Runny poo what should I do ?

My LO is 4 weeks old and for the past 2 days he has had runny poos. He seems to be struggling with passing the poo and makes straining and painted noises.

He now has a little blood on the nappy when I change him and his bottom looks a bit raw. I have been putting nappy rush ointment but I am just worried it will get to worse.

Should I call someone? Should I be more concerned ? What could be causing it ?

Poo isn’t going to be solid when they’re on a liquid diet, I recommend at this age, once the rash clears using a barrier cream also. Cheap own brand Vaseline works great at blocking moisture. The blood would be the only concert here I think, if it’s in the poo directly that’s an issue, but it could well be from a very bad case of nappy rash. If it’s in the poo you need to seek medical help. You can always contact your hv team if you’re concerned however, that’s what they are there for!

Probs best to go to your GP. If the nappy rash is bad and really uncomfortable, you might need a different cream

Sleeping bag recommendations?

Any recommendations for good easy to put on sleeping bags that won’t disturb a sleeping baby?
Baby falls asleep without a sleeping bag as always warmer at start of the night but once it’s cooler I put it on and it always seems to wake them! Which ones do you guys use and recommend? 🫶🏼

1st night home... help.

My baby was born slightly premature (35 +5weeks) and due to oxygen levels, unstable blood sugars and jaundice had to stay in NICU/special care/transitional care for 7 days. Last night was our first night home and I feel so scared and such a failure... everything at the hospital was so regimented everything was timed and exact. Im a type A kind of person so if theres instructions I will follow them to the latter but now we're home and he just wasnt taking his bottle right for bed he kept spitting up and then wouldnt settle and wouldnt stop crying and I couldnt stop crying. I finally got him fed and sorted and sleep for 12:40am and hes slept really well but now it's almost been 5hrs and I dont know what im supposed to do now, do I wake him up to feed? Do I enjoy whatever sleep we both get even if its longer than 4hrs? I feel like such a failure already

BD weird co-parent

Any advice on how to deal with a bd who does the bare minimum when baby is ill, he calls and say ‘keep me posted’ rather than offering any practical help - last time my baby had an allergy reaction (which was traumatising to me) whilst he was out of the country and then when i informed him he just downplayed it saying oh at least we now know she is allergic, i am sure she is ok - Mind you this same man betrayed me whilst pregnant and brought another woman who he is now living with to the country 🙄 and yet he wants to co-parent. I also notice he just wants to be around when my baby is happy etc and the responsibility or decision making is minimal :/ - How can i deal with this?

Nappy bins

First time mum due in October, I am forever scrolling Amazon to figure out the stuff I still need from the baby checklist, and I’m currently on a tangent of nappy bins. I don’t want a nappy bin, but I am debating a food waste bin for the night changes, since they have an odour filter built in. I wondered if anyone has done this and if it works?

Cold vs warm breast milk

Hi guys, I’m really stressed after my baby had her 2 month appointment. He has stopped drinking as much milk. I’m exclusively pumping. And up until his shots he was drinking cold milk pretty regularly and without difficulty since about 2 weeks. For the last two days hasn’t been on his regular schedule. Today I tried giving him room temp milk and seemed to do well. Did anyone else have a similar experience where their baby developed an aversion to cold milk out of the blue? I’m not sure if the loss of appetite is due to the cold milk or just post vaccine phase.

Need some serious input for a very worried momma 🙏🏽
