Absolutely not being selfish. It’s a scary and wild time having a baby. It’s a natural instinct to assess your surroundings and want to make sure your environment is relaxed and safe. People will pressure you into giving them access to your baby. If you don’t want anyone to see her for a week, a month, whatever, that is completely your decision and right as a mum. With baby #1 I had people over the day I got back from the hospital and was hosting everyday after for weeks. I ended up anxious and depressed. Baby #2 I didn’t let anyone round except my parents and that was purely for my own benefit of help so I can rest. I recovered physically and mentally so much quicker second time around. Highly highly recommend protecting your peace and staying in your bubble xx

My mind is all over the place one minute I’m thinking I’d love for people to come and see my baby then the next I’m wanting no one to come near it’s stressing me out because I don’t know what to think🫠🫠

You got to do what feels right for you, family can be really pushy and you don’t want to end up resenting missing out on that newborn bubble.
With my first we just said we would reach out to people when the time felt right to sort out visiting, and that worked well as it was the same message to everyone. We didn’t have anyone come over for first 10 days which felt like ages but it was so nice just being the 3 of us without distractions or anyone giving us advice we didn’t ask for!!

You don’t know how birth will go or feeding so having visits really early can disrupt your own healing and baby feeding - because obviously everyone wants to hold the baby!!
Just see how you feel and play it by ear. If certain people would be more of a support don’t feel bad inviting them first xx

Screaming baby🙃.

So how do I let my neighbours know that I’m not torturing my baby? He’s just hungry for actual food but doesn’t understand he can’t eat and have his hands in his mouth at the same time so is screaming blue murder🤦🏼‍♀️😂

What would you do in this case?

My husband has mental health issues, so has left us and moved back with his mum and siblings. So the last two years I’ve been solely caring for our children who’s both under 5. He does chip in at times, but he’s always so depressed.

The mum made our life hell before. So my husband doesn’t speak to her. So she calls me now and then ( we still try to visit her and son stays over some weekends). But I think she is still under the impression that I need to visit her every week. ( my husband does not stay at home during the day, he prefers staying out) so I will just be with her and the kids and the siblings etc.

Would you voluntarily want to visit her?
I am worried if I don’t, then she will deny my husband staying there- which means more stress for us. But then that’s her son, and she should still try do something?

Do you think something is wrong with a 6+ month old if they are waking at night?

Aka means they need to eat more food and they shouldn't be given water or formula at night, so they sleep 8-12 hours straight.

I just find it wild that people don't think it's normal for a 6+ month old to wake up during the night...

Mom guilt..

Just found out I’m pregnant with #2 (planned). However I’m in a state of sadness and feel like I’m letting down my firstborn. He’s 2 1/2 and will be 3 years and some change when #2 is born. I’ve always wanted 3 kids but this mom guilt is killing me. I feel like I won’t love second baby as much or that I’ll neglect my firstborn during those newborn days.
We keep asking him if he wants baby brother or sister and he as ALWAYS said sister and now I’m worried if it’s a brother he won’t like him 😂 I’m an emotional wreck and just need advice to calm my hormones down.
