Nursery advice

My little one is starting nursery next month (😭) and other than a settling in session the week before 🫠 we have been given no other info!
Can someone advise on what they take? From clothes, nappies, creams etc. thanks!

Spare clothes:) possibly a confort object, most nurseries will provide the rest but better to double check with provider x

Our first settling in session we stayed for an hour so confirmed with them then, and just took a bag of essentials. They literally provide everything though, so just send a bag with lots of spare clothes in.

They should definetly let you know what is provided at the first settling in session. I signed all the forms and permissions for pictures and stuff in that first session in the room whilst my little one had their session too. I just took his usual nappy bag for the first settling in hour because I was staying anyway.

My nursery doesn't provided nappies so everyone has to take their own, that didn't effect us because we use cloth nappies so would have been sending our own either way. They also dont provide things like nappy cream or suncream but have their own to use just incase.

How old are they?

Lots of named spare clothes! 😂 Leggings and tops are so much easier for the nursery staff than fiddly outfits. Make sure absolutely everything is named and be prepared for clothes to come home messy or stained. We've got a little nursery wardrobe that's mostly from Vinted so I don't stress if anything gets ruined. I also wouldn't send anything you really love or would be upset if it got stained or went missing.
Ours provides nappies, wipes, nappy cream and sun cream, so in her nursery bag we just keep a sleep bag, jumper, sun hat and coat if needed 😊

I say pack everything you need for a day out.
Nappies, wipes, nappy cream, snacks, medicines, spare outfit or 2, formula or breast milk, water bottle/ sippy cup, coat/jacket, dummy, comforter (always buy a spare).
Best advice is never send them in fancy clothes. Send in things you dont mind getting wrecked because they most certainly will.

11 year son saying is gay

My son has recently told me he’s gay and it’s knocked me for six has anyone ever been through this

Screaming baby🙃.

So how do I let my neighbours know that I’m not torturing my baby? He’s just hungry for actual food but doesn’t understand he can’t eat and have his hands in his mouth at the same time so is screaming blue murder🤦🏼‍♀️😂

Nappy bins

First time mum due in October, I am forever scrolling Amazon to figure out the stuff I still need from the baby checklist, and I’m currently on a tangent of nappy bins. I don’t want a nappy bin, but I am debating a food waste bin for the night changes, since they have an odour filter built in. I wondered if anyone has done this and if it works?

Runny poo what should I do ?

My LO is 4 weeks old and for the past 2 days he has had runny poos. He seems to be struggling with passing the poo and makes straining and painted noises.

He now has a little blood on the nappy when I change him and his bottom looks a bit raw. I have been putting nappy rush ointment but I am just worried it will get to worse.

Should I call someone? Should I be more concerned ? What could be causing it ?

Showering with 10 month old?

Home all day alone with my 10 month old until 10 and wondering is it just better to kill two birds with One stone and wash us both together . Instead of having to distract him while I shower and him destroying the bathroom and hitting his head and trying to get into the shower . I don’t like showering late or else I’d wait until 10/10:30 for my husband to get home . Baths don’t make me feel clean also .Does anyone do this ? Or do you just do bath for them

What would you do in this case?

My husband has mental health issues, so has left us and moved back with his mum and siblings. So the last two years I’ve been solely caring for our children who’s both under 5. He does chip in at times, but he’s always so depressed.

The mum made our life hell before. So my husband doesn’t speak to her. So she calls me now and then ( we still try to visit her and son stays over some weekends). But I think she is still under the impression that I need to visit her every week. ( my husband does not stay at home during the day, he prefers staying out) so I will just be with her and the kids and the siblings etc.

Would you voluntarily want to visit her?
I am worried if I don’t, then she will deny my husband staying there- which means more stress for us. But then that’s her son, and she should still try do something?
