I haven’t with either of my children - I dont know if you need to tbh. My friend exclusively pumps & she pumps throughout the day into the same bottle
Until they are full & then transfers to bags & into freezer & baby doesnt seem bothered :)

Night milk is meant to make them sleepy.

I never did. It didn't seem to make a difference. I'm sure there is a slight difference in the amount of melatonin but I don't think it makes a huge difference. I don't think giving am milk at night is likely to wake you baby up like they've had a coffee. And I don't think giving pm milk in the day time is going to knock your baby out.

I'm sure it's there physiologically for good reason, but I don't think it's the be all and end all

Unless you’re exclusively pumping then I wouldn’t bother.
There will be a difference as daytime milk contains more serotonin and nighttime contains melatonin but if it’s extra work that you don’t have time for then don’t worry about it!

I started out separating it out with my first but then tried giving him whatever one and honestly I didn’t notice a difference in him waking up at night with the day milk or being extra sleepy during the day with the night milk. With my second I’m not worrying about separating any of it.

Is this what it’s supposed to be like?

I don’t like motherhood. I don’t like how it feels. My birth was traumatic and I get flashbacks of it everyday. Every single day. I felt like I was punished for wanting a baby. I feel so much shame I will never have one again. I also have a lot of anxiety. If I stay in anxious. Get outside anxious. Child friendly activity anxious. Grocery store anxious. I feel like I can’t escape except when I smoke. My question is, is this what it’s supposed to feel like and moms pretend they’re happy or did I unfortunate get the short end of the stick? Pls respond I’ve been suffering like this for over a year.

Words at 1.5 years old?

How many words can/could your 1.5 year old say?

My HV said that our baby should have 50 words by 2. I’m worried our 1.5 year old is nowhere near this right now.

venting

i feel like my opinion doesnt matter. if i want to call the doctor about something that worries me its just ‘oh she’s fine, you always do that, that’s what the matter with you’ or did i ask his mom first. its always someone else telling me that she’s fine when i think she’s not. that i just get overlooked or ignored because im a first time mom.

Formula on holiday!

Hey
We are going away next week and the tap water isnt drinkable and i know there is an issue with sodium levels in bottled water.
What do people do in this scenario if not using ready made? Xx

Having a hard time FTM

I am 4 months PP and it’s been such an emotional roller coaster. I had the baby blues pretty bad the first 2 weeks but I slowly started to feel better. The next were weeks I could still feel it lingering. I started to go out more once I got cleared at my 6 weeks PP appt to start feeling a sense of myself again and it worked. Then I feel like I started to have some resentment towards my husband cause he can just leave and enjoy his time away but I am always worried about the baby. We have been arguing a lot more since the baby came is just exhausting cause I know we care about each other and want this to work but it’s just back and forth it seems like sometimes. I recently went back to work about a month ago and I am still having mixed feelings about it. It’s nice being with other people other than my family but I miss my little girl so much when I am gone and feel guilty sometimes for not missing her enough. Last but not least, I feel like I’m
Not doing enough as a mother. I work 40 hours a week and sometimes I would like to go out to see a movie or golf but my mother would have to watch her and I feel bad that she has to watch her so much cause she watches her when I work. I feel like I am becoming a new person since becoming a mom and don’t get me wrong I love it but at the same time I don’t want to lose myself and resent my daughter later for having to give up different things. I know this is more of a rant but I just feel alone sometimes even when it feels like I have a village behind me.

Sleep training

My girl is about to turn 8 months and I want to get her sleeping through the night without the cry it out method. Anyone else have had success with sleep training they can share?
