My son who turned 3 in June has never been to a setting, I work 3 days per week and he stays with my parents.
I’ve enrolled him into forest school in September, 5 mornings 9-12.
I’m so nervous - what if the staff are really strict with him and shout at him, what if other children are mean to him.
we won’t be there to look after him 😭
I’ve not let him know I’m worried about all this of course, but he keeps saying I don’t want to go nursery on my own and it’s breaking my heart! But I don’t want it to come to next year (reception) and him really struggle if he’s never been anywhere?

I am in the exact same situation. My son is starting in September too, 9-12 5 days.
Has he had any settling days yet?
Our nursery did visiting days all throughout June, where the kids played and the adults could stay to ask questions and watch their kid from afar.
My son loved it!
I am still really nervous to leave him by himself but his first few days are only 1 hour to start off with, I doubt I'll even go home, I'll probably just go for a walk closeby in case he needs me.
But I'm sure he'll be okay, and so will your little one. There might be an adjustment period but he'll be absolutely fine 🩷
