So my girl is still on 2 naps.
She usually naps well, both naps around an hour, sometimes slightly more.
But the last 2 days she’s barely napping! Yesterday 25 min morning nap, 50 min afternoon one. Today 40 min morning nap and 25 min afternoon one. Last night she slept rubbish which I put down to her short naps.
Do I transition her to 1 nap? My struggle is the morning, she’s ready to sleep after 3 hours whereas in the afternoon she can do 4-5 hours.
Just losing my mind a bit as she seems to be overtired during the night so is horrendous if doesn’t get enough day sleep😭😂

Overtiredness isn’t a thing, there’s no research to back it up, tiredness might cause baby to be deregulated and so they find it harder to fall asleep but once asleep will sleep well as they are tired. The bad nights are most likely because of not enough sleep pressure due to 2 naps. Mine has been on 1 nap for a while, her wake windows are not equal at all, she stays awake 5 hours then nap then another 7.5/8 hours before bedtime x

My little boy wakes around 7am but has always had a nap around 10.30 for around an hour. He'll then go the whole day until bedtime at 7pm. My little girl used to be exactly the same! If I put him down for a nap in the afternoon I don't think he'd go to bed haha! Xx

We’re all experiencing our little humans growing and developing differently, but one thing I’ve noticed is that they eventually figure out what suits their own little bodies best.
My little one wakes up between 6–8am every morning, regardless of what time he went to bed (the earliest is usually around 9:30pm!). His naps can be anything from an hour to 4 whole hours. 😭
The reason I don’t worry too much is because even as adults, our bodies let us know what they need. We can fight sleep for a while, but eventually our bodies win. Toddlers are the same biologically, they’re still learning, growing, and adjusting all the time.
One thing I’ve also learned is that if they’re healthy, happy, and full of energy… don’t provoke it. 😂 Toddlers are scary little people sometimes! The adjustment will come.
