We transitioned to 1 nap at about 12 and a half months and it was the best thing we ever did! She was taking so long to fall sleep at night, sometimes wouldn’t go down until like 9 or 10pm. She’s 14 and a half months now and honestly she’s been so much better, she has a 2 hour nap 1-3 and she’s usually passed out within 5/10 minutes at 7:50/8pm. I’d recommend giving it a go and see how she gets on!

Step 1: delete the app. You know your child and you don't need an app to tell you when she's sleepy.

You're probably right that she's moving towards 1 nap. It's a tough transition and can take ages, so you might have to accept that things are going to be a bit messy for a while.

You know your child best, but given that it's not even 8pm now, you probably tried starting bedtime at around 6pm which is likely way too early for most children this age! Instead of a 2h struggle, why not spend half an hour or an hour doing some sort of physical play, rough housing or what not to get that last bit of energy out of her and then try again? Xx

Humping

Because another parent gave me the strenght to talk about this.

My daughter is 28 months diagnosed level 2 and she has sensory needs as well for the past few months she has been “humping” to self soothe herself I would like to know for parents who dealt with this what would be a healthy way to deal with it ? How did your redirect to maybe let’s say a pillow but in the bedroom only and things like that she is considered non verbal but she follows instructions really well if helps at all ♥️ thank you for your advices im just trying to see if it would be okay to redirect to an appropriate area to do it rather than just trying to make it stop if it’s helping her regulate

Am I being unreasonable for 1 day?

Am I being unreasonable here.. my baby is 5 months old doesn’t sleep well in the buggy/pram has always slept better in her cot. My dad has invited us over for the day but expects my LO to take her naps in the pram which is going to result into a very grumpy baby as she will only nap in there for 20 mins/half hour max and I don’t feel it’s fair either. Nothing at my dads for her either like a travel cot etc and I just can’t be arsed with the hassle of it all if I’m honest, he’s in a grump with me now and hung up on me after me explaining this to him. I would of thought his partner would be understanding of this seeing as she’s a woman who’s had kids, wtf

Thoughts on sleep consultants?

My baby is 10 months old and has never slept through. She wakes 5 times a night and on average. We co sleep and breastfeed. I have tried lots of things so feel it might be time to try a consultant but want some people's opinions first as it is costly! Thank you

Overfeeding anxiety

My baby boy turns 7 weeks old tomorrow. He was 4 kg-8 lbs 13 oz when he was born and he’s already over 6.8 kg (15 lbs)!
I started with expressed breast milk but for the last couple of weeks I’ve been breastfeeding.
I’m super worried he’s gaining weight way too fast. My midwife, doctor, and hv all told me it’s totally normal for a breastfed (expressed or not) baby, but I’m still anxious about it.

Has anyone else experienced something similar? I constantly have this fear that I'm doing something wrong and overfeeding him.

Suddenly only the breast is acceptable?

So I’ve pretty much exclusively pumped since day one- he is now 3 months and 1 week. He has suddenly decided that sometimes the bottle is completely unacceptable and will only take it from the breast. I pumped in the first place because he would get so upset on the boob. I’m not worried just confused 😆 anyone else had this? He does also have a terrible latch because he hasn’t learnt properly which isn’t ideal!

Antenatal Health Visitor appointment for second pregnancy/baby???

I am due a antenatal home HV appointment tomorrow for my second pregnancy. I never even saw a HV until after the birth of my first baby.

Has anyone else been offered or had one of these for a second baby? What happened at the appointment? Is this a new thing? We are located in the south/East.

The letter is very vague and just says it’s to discuss my current pregnancy.

We do not have additional support or contact in place from any other agencies and haven’t see a HV since my first son’s 10 month review.
