my baby is 8mo, and he's not a great sleeper yet, so I try to be consistent with his night routine. I give him a bath at 6.30 and he's down at 7pm every day. But my family always makes plans for dinner, and are very upset when I prioritize my baby's sleep. When he gets overtired it is A NIGHTMARE. So I leave at 6pm sharp at the most, but they always complain. (by family I mean my mom, my sister and my grandma). I'm tired of explaining that he needs to sleep.

7 pm feels very early to me (my first never slept more than 10 hrs without needing a wake window), so I can see why they would think you could stay later if it were a one off, but at this point I feel like they know you're leaving at 6 so they need to plan better.
He's a baby, his needs are more important than theirs.

I’d just leave and continue with my routine for your baby, if that routine works for you both. I really don’t understand other woman putting you down and being annoyed with you for doing what’s best for your baby, especially at the time when he’s so little and other woman are your family… 😞

I put I wouldn’t care. My family was like that at first but I consistently left early to get my son in bed. They aren’t the ones who have to deal with the repercussions.
