I’m in the absolute 2u2 trenches (20 month old and 2.5 month old). I am in the early stages of leaving my partner of almost 4 years. And I absolutely regret being a mom. And that’s really hard for me to admit because I have wanted to be one for so long. I hate admitting it out loud. But I absolutely regret it. I wish I could just give the girls full custody to their dad because I feel so tapped out. But there’s no way he’d be able to with his work schedule and be able to provide them a happy healthy childhood. But I just wanted to say out loud I regret being a mom. I hope I’m wrong later in life but right now I am in the trenches and I’m struggling and I have no one to talk to or ask for genuine help. My friends don’t have kids or are longing to have one. My OB doesn’t care I feel this way and is not doing any bloodwork to check my levels. He did this last time too when I was severely depressed with my first born. no psychiatrist who can give me mental pills to help this take my government insurance and I can’t pay out-of-pocket because I can hardly afford anything to even keep my girls alive and happy. I’m in therapy once a week because that’s all my schedule allows. I just feel so lost and alone. But at least I have my girl gang which is a toddler who speaks the language of nothing and nonsense so there’s a language barrier between us. And an infant who just cries almost constantly, and doesn’t even want to be around me.

Right now, you’re in the trenches. You hate this present moment and how hard it feels. That doesn’t mean you hate motherhood or love your children any less. Give yourself grace. Things will get better. ❤️🩹

You’re in the trenches. Mine have a similar gap, 19 months. I never felt that I regretted it during that time, but I absolutely felt overwhelmed and exhausted everyday. I promise it gets better ♥️
