Hi mums how long after baby was born did yous all have a night out, me and my partner has a wedding 3 weeks after baby is due, I’m in two minds of going, as I don’t want to leave baby especially being 3 weeks postpartum and I also don’t want to let my friend down who’s wedding it is, what do I do in this situation, I’ve got until April to decide my mum said if we still want to go she will look after baby, but I don’t want to leave my baby behind

Hi! I get the feeling! If baby takes a bottle, leaving with mum after 3 weeks should be fine. The other question to think about though is whether your body will be healed enough to handle a wedding / night out. I can't remember the exact time but I think my midwife told me 1 week to stick close to bed, then 1 week to stay within home.. something along those lines. Like me, you might be feeling good physically but your body is still internally healing ☺️ not sure how much that helps & really depends on how the delivery goes.

Is it an option to bring baby along even to just attend the dinner part? It's definitely going to be hard to know what you and baby are up for ahead of time. Don't worry about letting your friend down, if they are a good friend they will understand, your baby comes first!
