Okay I need others opinion on this.. so my partner is a salesman and he only get two days off in the week. Thursdays and every other Sunday. But he’s talking about going in on his off days too. Mind you he’s barely home because of the crazy salesman hours, so when he does have a off day I would think he would want to stay home and maybe have family time or just use the day for something but he’s always saying I need to go to work in order to make a sale if I’m home I’m not making any money.. but mind you I work too . I can see if you trying to pull a lot of sales because I was a stay at home parent. Oh and this is our first child. I’m a new mom, am I tripping for trying to get him to see that off days should be use for family time no matter what? I’m only off on weekends too.

I definitely wouldn't be ok with my partner never being home for a day off to spend with me and our baby. That being said, maybe he is having a hard time figuring out how to be a dad or how to be a partner to you in this new life, and maybe he's trying to run/hide from it? I'm not agreeing with his methods, but suggesting maybe there is some fear or or something going on below the surface he is refusing to talk about. He definitely needs to prioritize setting aside dedicated time for you and the baby regardless of his job, and if he isn't willing to do that with a simple conversation with you sharing your opinion on it then maybe you should suggest couples counseling to discuss whats going on. He's allowed to have whatever feelings he has that'scausing this reaction, but that doesnt give him the right to hide from his family and shirk his responsibilities as a dad and partner. I would absolutely not stay with someone who didn't intend to make time for me or our child
