I’m 10 weeks having my first baby and I’m really not loving pregnancy at all. I’ve never been this exhausted in my life and still have to work full time. And my sisters, mum and partner have all said similar things like ‘you’re only a couple months’ and ‘it’s still early it gets worse’ trying to essentially say it can’t be that bad yet because you’re not pregnant enough. And I’ve never felt more alone in anything in my life. My partner is so supportive but when it comes to this he just cannot understand what I’m going through. So I have no one to vent to without feeling judged. When I talk about my pregnancy I see my sisters eyes all glaze over like ‘here she goes again’ as if it’s not the biggest change in my entire life. Just feel lonely.

Im with you there! I feel so exhausted this is my 2nd and its incredibly draining, the 2nd trimester is the easiest, the 3rd you just find it harder to do things taking a deep breath picking a sock up off the floor etc but the 1st trimester is like being in a war zone i completely understand x

The only thing I can think is they've not been pregnant before or it was so long ago they don't remember or perhaps those lucky few who have easy pregnancies 🙄 don't listen to them at all! Yes it gets worse in some ways and there are different symptoms to deal with later on so I get what they're saying, but the fatigue and nausea in the early stages of pregnancy are absolutely awful!!! 😖 I'm 8 weeks and I feel so drained all the time and so sick I can hardly do anything but lay down and rest 🤢😴 every pregnancy is different and honestly this one is way worse than my previous one. You're not alone, a lot of us are feeling awful and have been since around 4/5 weeks 🫂

I’ve had three babies and really hated all of my pregnancies. I never felt “the glow” and was miserable almost everyday. My partner was supportive but I also felt incredibly lonely and I too felt bad about venting to friends and family. My own mums favourite response was ‘Well you chose this’. It felt really unfair and would shut me down straight away. I’m sorry you’re having a bad experience, just remember that nothing is permanent, you won’t feel this way forever and at the end of of it all you’ll have your baby, feel full of love for them and know that however rubbish your pregnancy was, you would do it all again in a heartbeat to bring them into the world. Having said that I do hope it gets better for you. Pregnancy is a huge deal and we all come out of it changed in some way. Talk to the people who understand that and draw support from them. Xx

First trimester I'd brutal! Your baby grows more in the first trimester than any other trimester.
The good news is mostly 2nd trimester I'd do much better, soon it'll be easier.
Ignore them all they are not supporting you but pull your partner up as you do need support and if this what support looks like, absolutely not!

First semester is the worst in a lot of ways (e.g. fatigue, mental load, fear), second trimester is usually the best and easiest, third trimester is the worst in terms of physical tiredness from the heavy load and body changes.

If you need backup x

I'd not say gaslighting I'd say insensitive and unsupportive for sure!

I totally understand you on this, my family group chat literally bully me everytime I update them. I told my fiancé that it feels like a constant hangover every day, and that’s when it set in for him. I’ve been in and out of hospital and my family have told me I’m over reacting and that I should just drink water. So I get it. But 2nd trimester it does calm down, i’m 10 weeks myself and it’s calming down but I think I’m further than I am, so just push through as much as you can for now, it will calm down for some people, hopefully you are part of them people. But I’m always here for a chat as I know exactly what you’re going through x 🫶

This is my second pregnancy and I’m absolutely shattered, I had no nausea with my first, no exhaustion but I was 20, this time I’m 30 and I’m absolutely dead on my feet, every pregnancy is different anyway but the first trimester is notorious for wiping you out, the extra hormones, the fatigue, it’s all so overwhelming x
