Are they gaslighting me?

I’m 10 weeks having my first baby and I’m really not loving pregnancy at all. I’ve never been this exhausted in my life and still have to work full time. And my sisters, mum and partner have all said similar things like ‘you’re only a couple months’ and ‘it’s still early it gets worse’ trying to essentially say it can’t be that bad yet because you’re not pregnant enough. And I’ve never felt more alone in anything in my life. My partner is so supportive but when it comes to this he just cannot understand what I’m going through. So I have no one to vent to without feeling judged. When I talk about my pregnancy I see my sisters eyes all glaze over like ‘here she goes again’ as if it’s not the biggest change in my entire life. Just feel lonely.

Im with you there! I feel so exhausted this is my 2nd and its incredibly draining, the 2nd trimester is the easiest, the 3rd you just find it harder to do things taking a deep breath picking a sock up off the floor etc but the 1st trimester is like being in a war zone i completely understand x

The only thing I can think is they've not been pregnant before or it was so long ago they don't remember or perhaps those lucky few who have easy pregnancies 🙄 don't listen to them at all! Yes it gets worse in some ways and there are different symptoms to deal with later on so I get what they're saying, but the fatigue and nausea in the early stages of pregnancy are absolutely awful!!! 😖 I'm 8 weeks and I feel so drained all the time and so sick I can hardly do anything but lay down and rest 🤢🫩😴 every pregnancy is different and honestly this one is way worse than my previous one. You're not alone, a lot of us are feeling awful and have been since around 4/5 weeks 🫂

I’ve had three babies and really hated all of my pregnancies. I never felt “the glow” and was miserable almost everyday. My partner was supportive but I also felt incredibly lonely and I too felt bad about venting to friends and family. My own mums favourite response was ‘Well you chose this’. It felt really unfair and would shut me down straight away. I’m sorry you’re having a bad experience, just remember that nothing is permanent, you won’t feel this way forever and at the end of of it all you’ll have your baby, feel full of love for them and know that however rubbish your pregnancy was, you would do it all again in a heartbeat to bring them into the world. Having said that I do hope it gets better for you. Pregnancy is a huge deal and we all come out of it changed in some way. Talk to the people who understand that and draw support from them. Xx

First trimester I'd brutal! Your baby grows more in the first trimester than any other trimester.
The good news is mostly 2nd trimester I'd do much better, soon it'll be easier.
Ignore them all they are not supporting you but pull your partner up as you do need support and if this what support looks like, absolutely not!

First semester is the worst in a lot of ways (e.g. fatigue, mental load, fear), second trimester is usually the best and easiest, third trimester is the worst in terms of physical tiredness from the heavy load and body changes.

I'd not say gaslighting I'd say insensitive and unsupportive for sure!

I totally understand you on this, my family group chat literally bully me everytime I update them. I told my fiancé that it feels like a constant hangover every day, and that’s when it set in for him. I’ve been in and out of hospital and my family have told me I’m over reacting and that I should just drink water. So I get it. But 2nd trimester it does calm down, i’m 10 weeks myself and it’s calming down but I think I’m further than I am, so just push through as much as you can for now, it will calm down for some people, hopefully you are part of them people. But I’m always here for a chat as I know exactly what you’re going through x 🫶

This is my second pregnancy and I’m absolutely shattered, I had no nausea with my first, no exhaustion but I was 20, this time I’m 30 and I’m absolutely dead on my feet, every pregnancy is different anyway but the first trimester is notorious for wiping you out, the extra hormones, the fatigue, it’s all so overwhelming x

Am I being crazy?

Hi, so I just came on my period and yesterday afternoon I kicked my husband out for being too rough with my baby, he refused to see my point of view and instead made me feel bad, he’s done this so much.

He struggles to put her to sleep so he results to essentially forcing her to sleep, he picks her up roughly and plays with her too intensely for my liking she’s only three months so I don’t want to hurt her but he just doesn’t see it that way, whenever he puts her to sleep she screams but it’s different with me? I can’t tell whether I overreacted or not, I’m currently dealing with postpartum depression, anxiety and psychosis, I’m scared I overreacted.

Baby will only sleep on me, not in crib—help!

My baby settles instantly when he’s in my arms but cries or screams the moment I put him in his next to me crib. Has anyone found tips or gentle ways to help their baby sleep in the crib rather than just on them? Would love to hear what worked for others.

Do you and your partner have sex in the same room as your baby?

I recently saw a discussion about this on insta comments and it was a very split discussion so I was wondering how people here felt about it? (I just want to add I don’t want any judgement or negative comments to people who do or don’t decide to do this I just wanted to see how people feel)

In my own personal experience me and my partner do, our baby is 7 months old and sleeps independently in his own crib but he’s still in our room we never do it while he’s awake, under the covers in the dark so nothing is visible and if he wakes up we stop immediately for us personally doing it “when the baby isn’t around” just isn’t a possibility and we literally never have time to ourselves otherwise I will say we have massively toned down how we’re intimate with each other so we arent loud or doing crazy 50 shades style like we would pre baby and as soon as he’s older or old enough to like pull himself up and actually see what’s happening it’ll stop I don’t want it to be a situation where he ever sees us doing the act but for now I feel like he’s still unaware enough that it’s okay and like I said it’s only ever when he’s dead asleep sometimes I do feel a bit weird about it and it kills the mood so we stop.

Struggling

Hey ladies I feel like the worst mother in the world. I’m really struggling this month due to my daughter’s birthday last month and costly back and forth to court over child arrangement and I’m literally broke. Is anyone able to help me with formula nappies wipes and some snacks for the kids please? I don’t normally ask but it’s my last resort.

I’ve asked in my local free sites but heard nothing and there’s a waiting list on our food bank

So sorry to ask everyone. Xxx

I don’t want to do this anymore.

I’ve turned to cutting again. I tried to go to a hospital but my family won’t let me. I’m not on any medication and I’m waiting for part 2 of my psych evaluation to figure out what I have and medication to take but I’m just so over this. I love my kids but it’s just not enough anymore and it breaks me to even believe that. 3 under 5 is really getting to me while having no partner to help. I never imagined living past my 18th birthday and yet here I am. Birth control failed me and my bd threatened to kill me if I got an abortion so I listened but fuck idk what to do anymore. The house is a mess I’ve lost 35lbs in 2 months I just want my babies happy and I don’t think I’m cut out for this
