Pocket money?

So I'm currently a sahm with no source of income. My husband works and pays for everything. I do my bit he does his bit. Its very harmonious. I never needed pocket money before but now, with a baby, its becoming inconvenient to not have cash on hand or have anything for myself. Like i havent had a haircut in years and i cant go on coffee dates. Anyone made an arrangement with their husband?
Hes more than willing but i hate asking. No judgement pls

No arrangement here, I just pay for what I need/want. If it’s a higher amount ($60 or higher) I’ll ask him but that’s just to make sure he’s okay with me spending it on the current paycheck.

I only ask him bc im oblivious these days and dont want to pver draw us. But there are certain things for me we budget for. My coffee, my hairbevery 8 weeks, and weekly/bi weekly thrift or antique trip

I am a SAHM as well, but do the budgeting/pay the bills for our family. I would suggest maybe just working out something in your budget so you have an “allowance”. You won’t have to ask every time you need something small, so when you want to make a bigger purchase it won’t feel like you’re constantly asking because you’ll just have your budgeted amount to spend freely.

My names on the acc but I’m having no income atm it’s all his as a sahm. So he has a card I have a card both our names on it. I tap what I need on a daily basis every week is basically the same amount, I also have $120/m come out auto monthly for my 2 dance lessons a week (Tuesdays and Fridays) and I get a big shein order of around $100 monthly. I choose to cut, dye my own hair, do my own nails and lashes but that’s coz it’s convenient I can do it a couple hrs before a Friday night out instead of trying to schedule last minute and being told she can’t get me in till next week 😵‍💫 So for convenience I do all my physical maintenance stuff myself I just buy the supplies (that’s what the Shien order is for 😅) to do that. Ask for his card xx

Questions to ask at Nursery Viewings

Hey! I’m a first time mum going to nursery viewings tomorrow and Tuesday and just wanted some suggestions for questions to ask as I feel completely out of my depth but at the same time like it’s the most important decision I’ve had to make so far. Anything you can think of or that you wish you’d asked or looked for in advance would be super helpful. Thank you so much 💕🙏

Am I wrong for kicking off?

I’m so stressed, so emotional, so overwhelmed and so ready to pop! I’m 39 weeks today and I honestly am so fed up. With everything and everyone. I’m doing this whole thing alone, and feel so isolated and like no one cares 😒
Relationship with baby’s dad broke down; he said he would be there for me but isn’t really interested. He lives a good few hours away from me and has said he wants to be present for birth but due to him not being around or there for me during pregnancy, I’m in 2 minds whether to even let him know when I go into labour. That’s if if he even makes it to the hospital in time. (Don’t know if I’m being spiteful here.)
My family have also been a joke. Barely been there for me, so going to scans and appointments etc I’m always alone. Which is hard when I see people at the appointments with at least someone.
Things have been strained with my mum, since forever so we’re up and down most times. However, I’ve got to give her credit. These last couple weeks I’ve had to have extra scans due to docs being worried about baby’s weight/reduced movements etc. and my mum has given me a lift to the hospital so has helped in that aspect.
I’m now a week from giving birth and aware that I’ve still got loads to do/things still need to be bought etc. Very overwhelming!!
I have realised I need a Moses basket for downstairs and buying one outright for over £100 is quite expensive.. so I’ve looked on fb marketplace and found a cheapish one, good condition, collection 11 miles away.
I have asked mother dearest if she’ll take me to collect the item on Monday if I give her some petrol money. She has said it’s too far for her to drive and refuses to help me. (I don’t drive) But I’m confused as when my sister was sent to jail earlier in the year, she was happy to drive 6 hours to London to go visit her in jail. She drives miles to take her partner to funerals for random people but I’m asking for her help (for a journey 11miles away) as her daughter for an item for her granddaughter and she is refusing to help.
So I’ve said a few words to her last night as I don’t think it’s fair she goes above and beyond for everyone else but for me, she can never help out and now we are not talking again. Am I wrong for this?
Please can I get peoples thoughts as I’m going out my mind.

Discipline

Does anyone have any ideas for disciplining a 2 year old? She's to little to understand a time out I've tried. I've also tried just explaining none of it works.

What's something you would do if you had a child free day?

What's something that's on your list to do (apart from resting LOL) that you would do if you had a child free day?

My partner is detached and useless.

For a little background, my partner is 24 and he is stressed due to some trouble with the law(a road rage incident where the other person made insane claims), my son is 10 months old and very mobile (he’s already walking).
My partner has been super unsupportive and distant. He is always on his phone when he’s “watching” our son, and he doesn’t look at him or really interact with him during mealtimes or time spent together. When he does help, by watching his own son while I do something or just need a break, he does not take into account what the baby wants. For example, right after a full contact nap with me, he will try to get the baby to sit still and cuddle with him while watching tv, when it’s fairly obvious that he doesn’t want to be still and wants to be active(trying to get away, getting upset from sitting still, etc.). Also, when my partner isn’t being helpful and I kind of call him out for it, he brings up the fact that I played a video game for like 30 minutes while our son is playing in his playpen, note that I still interact with our son during this time. My partner basically only plays games and while get on the game and then ask me if it’s okay if he plays when he’s already in a party (voice chat) with his friends. He doesn’t really want to help with other stuff either, I asked him to help set up the crib so I don’t need to hold our son during every nap time, he said he doesn’t know why he needs the crib. I tell him I will just set it up myself then, now he doesn’t know where the bolts are for it and won’t look for them when he’s the one to put all of this stuff in the garage. He also gets upset when I try to give him ideas on what he could do with our son when he’s watching him but he gets upset and tells me he knows how to parent, then does things our son doesn’t enjoy and wonders why he doesn’t fucking like him.
I am so tired. I need a partner, not an idiotic manchild who is always distant and on the off chance he isn’t, he’s dismissive and argumentative. I’m so fed up.

Am I crazy to think I’m not allowed to hang out with my niece and nephew anymore?

As of lately, my husband has been having this idea that my brother doesn’t like him for some odd reason. It’s gotten to the point that he’s accused me of being there more for my brother than my own husband and my child which is totally ridiculous. Today my brother texted me inviting us out to eat, but I didn’t go because I knew my husband would say no so then again my brother invited us to an ice cream shop. My husband started working in his office. I told him me and my son would go because I also wanna see my niece and nephew. My husband makes the statement. “ watch our son don’t take your eyes away from him.” I ask him why he says that and he says.” well you always go towards your niece and nephew and disregard of our son whenever you’re around them.” I decided to not respond because it’s now starting to seem like I can’t even hang out with my brother. It’s my niece and my nephew and my son.

Keep in mind this is not the first second or third time he makes comments like this. What should I do?
