Contact naps

Am I making it more difficult for myself long term by allowing contact naps during the day? She doesn’t like her naps in the pram and doesn’t stay down very long when I do put her down in the day… -she doesn’t like lying flat due to reflux… 9/10x she’s ok in her cot at night. 15 week old.

Not at all. My daughter would only contact nap when she was a newborn. We have never co slept unless she’s poorly, and now she loves her bed and sleeps perfectly, has done from 3 months old ☺️

No enjoy them before they get too big xx

It might do as it will be what she becomes used to but if she needs the sleep and doesn’t sleep flat then what else do you do! You do what’s best for baby, and what you feel is right! My little one isn’t a contact nap person unless he really wants one! I have to lay him on the bed with the dummy and a Muslin as that’s what he likes! Whatever you do at the end of the day, as long as you are happy with baby’s care and baby is happy, is the right thing🩷 Ya doing fab lovely c

I have no right answer. But gosh i miss those! Most cultures do contact naps, even contact night sleep ♥️ if it works for you, enjoy!!

keep contact napping girl! i have absolutely no regrets at all and i miss those moments so much with my 2.5 year old. it was so peaceful letting him nap on me for every nap! even when he was 1 and turning 2 i would still lay with him and even when i had the opportunity to leave his bed i would just stay there with him because i loved the break in the day to relax lol. now im contact napping with my 6 month old and it’s more chaotic with a toddler so she naps in the carrier for every nap. i SO miss all the peaceful naps with my 1st! i read so many books in that season of life, got so many opportunities to pray and relax in the silent snuggles. now i miss it, they grow so fast lol

No my little boy will only sleep on me or I’m the pram if we’re out in the day but will sleep in his cot at night and has done since newborn xx

Nope. My little girl is 2.5 years old and she very rarely contact naps with me. She decided one day that she’s a big girl and wants to nap on her own with me patting her bum or stroking her hair.

Whereas my 7 month old will only contact nap with me but anyone else can put him to sleep in a pram x

Contact naps are the best thing for their development ☺️

I mean i always co-slept and contact napped she has her own bed and sleeps just fine in it when we moved her into her own space. So no holding baby to sleep or sleeping with them doesn't mean they be in your bed forever.

No. I have co - slept with my baby since he was a newborn. Around 5-6 months we transferred him to his crib due to me being pregnant again. He has done fine sleeping there during the day and night time. Theres times were we do contact nap during the day. Some nights he sleeps with me. Hes currently 1 and now prefers to be in his crib🥲😂 he will fall asleep in my arms but will nag until i put him in his crib.

Dropping to 1 nap?

My girl is 13 months tomorrow. The last couple of weeks there has been days where she is only having 1 nap.

She usually goes down around 9.30 and can sleep for 40mins- 2.5hrs. If at home, they’ve been getting longer. Then we go out and about and she often goes till bedtime 6.30/7.30. Sometimes she’ll fall asleep in the afternoon in the car, but when at childcare etc she often refuses to sleep in the afternoon.

She does manage with 1 nap as long as it is a long one. The only issue being she struggles to stay awake past 9.30/10 in the morning, so is often waking 12.30 at the latest, which then makes the afternoon really long, and she can get very grumpy in the afternoon/evening where she’s tired!

Am I tripping or is my Baby Daddy?

I’m a SAHM while he the breadwinner. I personally just want to cuddle and wind down together after the baby’s asleep. He constantly says he has to finish work, he has errands or he wants to play the game with the boys. Mind you .. he often falls asleep on the couch instead of getting in bed. Plus this is a frequent thing through out the week. It bothers me, I’m voiced it, but the change isn’t consistent. Am I tripping???

Routines

Those of you getting 4/5/6/7 hour stretches at night, what’s your day/night one routines? Ie when are you putting them to bed? How long are they awake for before bed? How often are they napping in the day?

Asking for very tired friend 🫠😅
