When you have just had a baby and you get a completion date to move house this Friday (baby will be 2 weeks 2 days). The only words are shattered and overwhelmed. Any one else done this before?😰

Hire a removal company that will literally pack everything for you. You can then load the car with the things you and baby need and go to parents or friends house whilst your partner and the removal people do the house. It's costly but it's also really helpful. Do not book AnyVan. Awful company. We use Alexander removals but I'm not sure if they are derby/midlands based but they were excellent and there was no limit. They charge for their time and their men not per load or box. I've not had experience of moving with a new born. But they will reduce the mental and physical load off you

Yes. Did it last month with my baby at 2 weeks. You need your village.

We moved earlier this year with an almost 4 year old and a 3 month old. If you can afford to hire a removals company to pack for you, it was an absolute game changer for us, would highly recommend!! Make sure you have what you need to hand (cushion for breastfeeding, bottles, muslins, water bottle etc)
We basically did it so I was on baby duty, my husband was on moving duty, and my mother-in-law came to be on toddler duty and it worked out okay! I do have a very organised husband which helped and the removals team did most of it.
I think it was actually hardest on our toddler because there was a lot of waiting around but a 2 week old will hopefully be happy to just be carried about. If they will go in a carrier so you can be hands free that's even better but at 2 weeks, you need to be resting as much as possible!

I moved with a 5 week old post emergency c section. Unfortunately our competition date was confirmed only a few days prior due to problems up the chain so we couldn't get a removals company. Try and get one booked in ASAP! We just got family round to help with packing and unpacking while I focused on looking after baby. It's not easy but it's not impossible!! Good luck with everything
