Natural birth or C-section?

Hi, I am due my first baby in October and my partner and family are advising me to have a C-section. As they say it’s less painful etc. But I would prefer a natural birth and wouldn’t want to go through recovery after the C-section. I had an ovarian cyst removed at 14 weeks, along with my ovary and fallopian tube. It took me weeks to recover from this and worry the recovery for C-section would be the same. Does anyone have any advice please? Would you have a C-section or opt for natural birth?

Personally I see C-section as a wonderful alternative provided that it's medically justified.
I had a really awful time during my first childbirth and I carry a lot of anxiety now as I'm getting close to my second due date; but I'd rather still avoid major abdominal surgery unless it becomes absolutely necessary.

I wound up with the epidural the first time around for which I'm really thankful after 36 hrs, and I'm keeping it in my back-pocket for this time too, while hoping that something like remifentanil will be enough.

I'd suggest talking with your mid-wife, or look into the many ways to manage labour pain, I'm in the process of reading up on the options myself :)

I’ve never had a c-section… but I’ve had a natural birth. My advice would be do what’s best for you, it’s your body and this is gonna be a very important moment in your life! Please don’t let know pressure you into anything just because they did it that way! Do as much research as you need and make an informed decision that is best for you and your baby! ✨

I would go for natural and if needed C-section but you gotta do what is comfortable for you at the end of the day x

From personal experience a c-section was fine recovery does suck a little. I personally wanted natural but had to be induced. I would recommend a c-section but only if they recommend for you to be induced. I can't speak for everyone but induction for me was awful and just made the pain unbearable and came too quickly and led into a c-section anyway. I'm opting for a VBAC this time around but if I have to be induced again I'm just asking for the c-section

Baby boy born 🩵

Hey ladies , I’ve had nearly 2 weeks of my boy now and I’ve realised I’ve not checked in on here at all . My boy was born 30th July at 3.44 weighing 6 pound 4 ! He was born 37+3 .

He had a tough start and came out extremely bruised , the doctors said they have never seen anything like it 🙈 but he’s all okay now and very content .

Do people still go to birthday parties for kids in class?

My oldest is about to have his 4th birthday party and he has exactly 0 rsvp from kids at school. We sent 24 invitations and not a single response. When I talked to other parents in the class they said they don’t really get rsvps from the other parents they just show up or don’t but never communicate. Idk if this is a cultural thing/age thing/language thing or what. I even put the invite in English and Spanish. I know we have other kids from church and family coming but I still feel sad he will have no friends at school at his party

Gestational Diabetes

Have just been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I’m freaking out a little bit as don’t know what it means yet.

Strong movements

Don’t get me wrong, I love how active my baby is. But I can’t be the only one who feels a bit sick sometimes or it takes my breath away how strong some of her movements are?!🥴🤣

She just did such a big roll / or elbowed me, I don’t even know, but it made me feel so nauseous🫣

Finding out the gender???

Hey lovelies,

My partner wants to find the gender out but I don't want to. He won't be at the scan due to work. Would you find the gender out to please him or stick to your guns and not find out.

I want the surprise but I also don't want other people knowing even if I did find out... oh and he can't keep a secret (especially from his mum and she has a right big gob on her so everyone would know).

Snacks for hospital

You would think with this being my 3rd i would know what to pack by now 🙈 however, what snacks did people pack in their hospital bag? My 1st baby was covid and we were in for a week after he was born so i dont remember much of what snacks i packed. My 2nd ended up as a home birth as she was too eager to wait for hospital and arrived in 30mins 😂 so i didnt touch my bag for anything except clothes when we got to hospital lol.
Im trying to figure out whats best considering the heat atm i dont want anything that will spoil lol.
