My ob quit so I had to get a new doctor. Today was the 1st appointment & he asked me my pre-pregnancy weight which was 165 and I now weigh 192 at 29 weeks. Guys the doctor wants me to stop eating bread, pasta, juice, icecream + more to slow my weight gain. For context I’m not high risk and everything is normal. I don’t want do it😭😭😭 Food is one of the only things I’ve still been enjoying pregnant

Did you pass your GD test?

Not saying that it’s necessarily healthy but I’m pregnant with my second and with both I was about 280 before and ended around 310 ish💀my doctor never said anything. The only thing he ever said was towards the end with my first he said not to eat too many carbs so he wouldn’t be a big baby..but I didn’t listen and he was under 7 lbs anyways lol. Once again I know my weight isn’t healthy, just saying it’s crazy that they would want you to cut back on everything(unless you have gestational diabetes that’s completely different!)

Ignore him.
They tend to focus on weight for literally no reason and you're perfect! As long as you don't have GD you should be fine to eat what you want without someone who isn't even certified in nutrition to tell you how to eat

girl i started at 180 im 215 at 31 weeks, you’re fine. just stay active to balance out the weight gain so post partum isnt that bad. i gym 4x/week and walk my dog twice a day the weight gain is inevitable you’re growing a human. sometimes fyck what these people be saying lol give yourself grace

Girl they said the same shit to me and I was 130 the day I gave birth. (Given, I had GD… but STILL. I was a skinny pregnant lady with a 6lb baby! Let me eat cake!)

Some people just gain more weight. As long as your vitals and baby are good you’re so fine.

I mean those things aren't great. You want complex carbs regardless if you passed your gd test. Not because of weight, but because simple carbs genuinely are not good for you unless you are literally making fresh milled bread etc. A whole, real food diet plays a huge role in pregnancy, not just bc of weight gain.
