I’m exclusively breastfeeding and I keep getting comments saying I should express my milk and bottle feed. I really don’t want to. Does anybody else find people comment on this?

People might be saying it so that if / when it comes to them going to nursery, they will be able to take a bottle.
I do a mix of both, but 90% breast feeding and 1 bottle a day just so that he doesn't refuse it in the future when he nay need to be away from you.

My baby is ebf and my only caution is now she will not accept any bottle or pacifier. This is okay 99.9% of the time but I did have one medical appointment I could not bring her in for and the logistics were just a lot trickier as a result. We however got through it so you don't need to bottle feed

Never gave my son a bottle. Had a couple people suggest it and immediately said no why would I need to? They didn’t push it again. Super weird thing to comment about someone else’s baby 😂

On the contrary, I remember always being told about nipple confusion and to not give bottle under 3 months

Tell them to piss off 😊

I never got this partly because I did after 9 weeks exclusive pump (after combi feeding and trying to improve her latch). But what I did get was. Why don't you just use formula. You dont have to breastfeed. That looks like a lot of effort surely formula would be better. Despite me telling them how much I had wanted to breastfeed at least 10 times.
Some people just have an opinion they cant keep to themselves despite it not being any of their business. If you want to breastfeed do and ignore them
It feels as though they want to feed the baby whilst I do other things (to give me a break :/ ). Baby is also a Velcro baby. So it’s predominantly family members saying it. They want to stop the clinginess to me

Your baby is meant go be clingy. Theyre your baby! Mines 2 now and she is really clingy to me despite spending most of her life being fed by everyone.

There’s no need to bottle feed if you can exclusively breastfeed 😄 it’s so much better for them. I’m also breast feeding and don’t see the need to bottle feed at least in the near future.

Never given a bottle to any of mine.. 🤷♀️ (obviously once they’ve needed to have a bottle of water etc they’ve had access to a bottle) my first fed until 3yrs 2 months… you keep going girl… this is your feeding journey… people tried to repeatedly tell me to do it with my first just told them no… don’t know what a bottle would achieve? Want to give me a break clean the house for me? Not from feeding my baby? Also been advised for my third by HV due to slow gain but he had a really severe tongue tie and just recently discovered hes got CMPA… so giving a bottle of breast or formula wouldn’t of changed anything for us… I’ve figured it all out on my own no thanks to them… the other perk to breast feeding is no washing bottles and it’s right there at the boob… so again would defeat the objective for you… enjoy your journey girl, it’s not forever! Tell them to shove it! 👍🏼 if they won’t give you a pat on the back for doing something incredible I will… what an achievement 👏🏼 x

You do what you want! We decided to introduce a bottle of expressed from about 10 weeks just so she takes both when I need to be out, I booked a massage and I'm so excited! So depends what level of flexibility you want, it's only your choice!

Just ignore them I got told this all the time but I really don’t want too as I love the bond both me and my daughter when I’m breastfeeding
