Introducing formula after 6 months EBF

Looking for advice on how to introduce my 6 month old to formula after being exclusively breastfed. I want to continue breastfeeding when I can (combi feed) but I go back to work soon and won’t have time to express when there so worry I won’t be able to stock up enough for each day I’m in work. Baby has never had a problem drinking breast milk from the bottle in the few times I’ve left him with family but is outright refusing to drink formula (tried powder and ready made). Drank a few once day 1, day 2 drank half of that, day 3 onward wouldn’t drink it at all! Anyone who has managed to successfully introduce formula at a later stage, any advice would be appreciated.

I haven't personally done it but could you mix breast milk and formula initially whilst they adjust?

Yeah it's tricky isn't it? I know you say about not having time to pump at work but it's likely you'll be super engorged and need to when first going back whilst your body adjusts.

Work should be giving you the chance to pump.

I believe they have to give you the time to pump.

Coping as a FTM

Hey ladies... I guess my question is how do you cope? I'm a first time mom to an almost 6 month old baby girl, and I feel like more often than not, I lose my marbles. I had one instance where I just screamed because she wouldn't settle and I was sleep deprived and everything was too much, I was home alone and she was next to me and my husband had just arrived home and he took her and I broke down. I couldn't believe what I had done.

Today was another hard day and I started crying while he settled her for sleeping and she looked at me and I swear there was worry in her eyes. She was sad cause I wasn't holding her anymore and that just made me cry more.

I'm bad with loud noises and I tend to get overstimulated easily and I don't want that to affect her, but I don't know what to do. Can anyone else relate? I don't have any mom friends and I feel like my mom and sister think I can't do this whole mom thing and I just want to feel like there's light on the other side.

Baby wide awake

Baby has woken up at 3:30am & is wide awake smiling & giggling like it’s 7am 🤦‍♀️ not sure what to do, do I just let him be awake for a bit in the low light? He has a 2 hour wake window so really hope it’s not a full wake 😭

Breastfeeding guilt :(

Hi ladies. Lately I’ve been in my head and feeling extremely down about my breastfeeding journey and how it ended at 5.5 m PP with my daughter. I’m 9 months PP now. I stopped due to mental health reasons but can’t help be feel as though I failed her tremendously. Even though she is thriving, happy and so healthy the guilt eats away at me. Does anyone have any tips on how I could overcome this? I cry a lot about it now😭

1st period after birth.

I had my baby 8 weeks ago and I’m exclusively pumping as my little girl is only on breast milk.
I got my period, did anyone else’s period start up again quickly while exclusively breastfeeding or expressing?
