Struggling

Don’t want to be a Downer or rant but i feel like everything is really hard constantly. My baby’s 5 months and she had colic when young so months 1-3 were HARD then I thought things got better but since 4 months I can’t lie I’ve been so depressed I feel my baby is constantly winging , I try to get out cause I’m overstimulated but she just cries in her pushchair and wants to get out at home I feel she’s bored and lost interest in everything she had been interacting with. She sleeps through the night but I still find myself not sleeping and crying everyday, I wake up dreading the day and feel so guilty cause everyone I speak to absolutely loves motherhood and doesn’t seem to have any issues with there little ones , I feel like I’m failing , I was just waking up and getting on with it everyday but it’s getting to the point where I literally don’t feel like I can keep doing it everyday. I feel guilty that I’m not enjoying it like everyone else does don’t get me wrong there’s days and moments I love but I’m just so tired , I lost so many friends after having a baby , lost my job, lost doing the things I used to enjoy and I feel like now she’s 5 months no one checks in anymore or takes me seriously , I feel more lonely and like it’s harder than it’s ever been. Please tell me there’s other mums that feel like this cause I always see ppl saying how amazing everything is and wonder why I’m not feeling the same. At what age does it get better , if it does

I completely understand what you’re going through. I went through something similar when my daughter was around 5 or 6 months old. I felt like I was losing myself in motherhood, and exercising or just doing little things for myself really helped me! Try finding something you enjoy, even if it’s just a small hobby, and let yourself feel whatever you’re feeling without feeling guilty about it. I promise it gets better. I also noticed that my daughter could really pick up on my emotions. If I was stressed, she seemed more stressed too. I remember trying so hard to get her to nap and getting frustrated when she wouldn’t. The moment I stopped stressing about it and just let it be, she would eventually fall asleep. Kids are so connected to us and sometimes they feel what we’re feeling too. Just give yourself time and don’t forget to take care of yourself too 🧡

I would contact the GP. You might have PPD. There is nothing wrong in feeling the way you do. Motherhood is hard and for some people it can be very isolating. It is so true, people stop checking in and assume you are fine just because the baby is older. Sometimes you need to admit you need help and things can get better.

I know exactly how you feel I'd say 4-6 months were some of the hardest for me. My little one was doing terrible 20 minute naps and I felt like I just wanted to wish the days away so I didn't have to entertain her because nothing would make her happy. I wanted her to sleep but she wouldn't.

This also didn't help that she was still wanting milk through the night to the point I had my first time of her sleeping through when she was 7 months old I think. And I do everything. So 7 months (and a bit before when pregnant) of broken sleep of a couple of hours was absolutely killing me and I felt like I was no longer a person. Nobody would visit, or offer to, family are too far away and I was just attempting to exist.

Forget about hobbies because she needed constant attention and I was the only one to give it. I would find myself jealous of ever other mum i spoke to ❤️

I would say what another has suggested of speaking to your GP some medication could help. I say that and I'm just randomly crying at times atm

Introducing formula after 6 months EBF

Looking for advice on how to introduce my 6 month old to formula after being exclusively breastfed. I want to continue breastfeeding when I can (combi feed) but I go back to work soon and won’t have time to express when there so worry I won’t be able to stock up enough for each day I’m in work. Baby has never had a problem drinking breast milk from the bottle in the few times I’ve left him with family but is outright refusing to drink formula (tried powder and ready made). Drank a few once day 1, day 2 drank half of that, day 3 onward wouldn’t drink it at all! Anyone who has managed to successfully introduce formula at a later stage, any advice would be appreciated.

Not enjoying parenthood

Anyone else not enjoying parenthood as much as they thought they would? My little girl is 13 weeks old and screams inconsolably every evening. It's so stressful and really taking its toll on me and my partner as it's been like this for weeks now. I just feel a bit trapped and I'm not enjoying being a Mum as much as I thought I would. It goes without saying that I love my little girl so much, I'm just finding this phase so difficult

How long before I can stand without pain?

10 days post-partum, still unable to stand for more than a few minutes without pain that radiates through my pelvis and demands I sit back down for it to stop.
Sitting is uncomfortable, I had a 2nd degree tear and stitches for a vaginal wall repair but the pain when standing is extreme, walking is fine it only is an issue if stood still.

It's really caught me off guard I thought recovery would be easier than this I can't even stand and wash some dishes without feeling close to tears and needing to stop and sit

3 year old loves hugging strangers- any advice?

My 3.5 year old always says hello to any passing by stranger and recently she’s also started going up to random people especially adults who happen to have kids with them and she goes and hugs their legs. I felt really embarrassed today as a man was with his 2 children in a coffee shop and she went over and started hugging his legs but he was very friendly and told me not to worry but how do I communicate with my child? Should I tell them not to hug strangers? Probably seems like such a dumb question but want to deal with it best I can without affecting her friendliness towards people as it’s obviously good she’s friendly.
