Anyone else not enjoying parenthood as much as they thought they would? My little girl is 13 weeks old and screams inconsolably every evening. It's so stressful and really taking its toll on me and my partner as it's been like this for weeks now. I just feel a bit trapped and I'm not enjoying being a Mum as much as I thought I would. It goes without saying that I love my little girl so much, I'm just finding this phase so difficult

I used to dislike it when people tell me, "Enjoy every moment. You'll miss this."
Suddenly, on top of being exhausted, I feel guilty because apparently I'm not having a sufficiently magical time. But I've started to realise that loving something and enjoying it aren't the same thing.
I can love my daughter more than I knew it was possible to love another person and still not particularly enjoy seeing her face at 3:17 in the morning. I can treasure the contact nap and desperately need to pee.
I can know that one day I'll miss how tiny she was without wishing I could freeze time here.
Two things can be true.
This is precious. And this is hard.
You don't have to enjoy every moment to know that it matters.
(sorry i rambled)

Anyone who tells you it's wonderful and amazing is completely negating the flip side of how bloody hard it is!
I HATED the first month, I cried every day, I genuinely thought I'd made a horrible mistake, I was overwhelmed, trapped, sick of the house not being how I liked it, sick of not being able to leave the house alone etc...
It has got better, I had the screaming phase and sometimes I had to walk away into another room and scream into a pillow lol.
Don't feel guilty or bad at it because you don't enjoy it all. Anyone that describes it as this wonderful newborn bubble has completely forgotten what it's actually like.
You're doing amazing, enjoy the bits you enjoy and rant about the bits you don't.
Re the screaming a friend suggested putting them down for a power nap about (no longer than 45mins) 1.5hrs before bedtime and it worked for me, sure you've been told all sorts but thought I'd mention incase it helped!
Try and carve out some you time, you're still in there and that's needs attention too x
