Doctor approved us to start introducing more solid foods at 5 months because of her head control. I told our daycare, and they asked what my plan was—baby-led weaning, purées, pouches, etc. And honestly… I had no idea what to tell them 😂
What is everyone else’s plan for introducing solids? Are you doing baby-led weaning, purées, a mix of both, or something else?

My son’s pediatrician told us to start slow with the purées and that their main source of nutrients will still come from the breast milk up until one year so not to rely on the food to make them full. My plan with my 4 month old is just letting them try one food at a time slowly and then reassess at his 6 month appt

Baby boy is 4.5 months. Ped said we could start purées to help with reflux.
Starting with veggies and grains.

Same here, at our 4 month appt our doc also told us we could start giving her things to taste. It's not really about nutrients right now, rather just the practice of being fed and trying different flavors. Since we're still a little early I just give her little spoonfuls of anything we have, broth from my soup, mashed potatoes, gravy, yogurt etc. if we were sending off to daycare I'm not sure I'd even send something yet, but if anything probably just a puree pouch or something easy baby could enjoy and play with. I wouldn't expect babe to actually eat it just yet.
