My girl is two months on Wednesday and this evening she has cried intensely for about an hour straight bar a few minutes of sleep as she is clearly exhausted from crying so hard but quickly wakes back up as I assume she is in pain. She’s also arching her back and throwing her arms around which I’ve read is another sig. of pain.
She has reflux and takes liquid omeprazole. Is fine all day then in. The evening really unsettled then fine in the night. An improvement from about a week ago when she was crying nearly all day.
I’m wondering that in a 2+ month old if they are crying like that and it’s inconsolable/very hard to soothe would you give calpol under the assumption they are in pain? Or only leave the calpol for management of fever/give when a dr recommends?

I had this. My boy is on omoprezole . I changed bottles from mam to tommee tippee and instantly noticed a difference

Not sure if you’re pumping or using formula but have you tried comfort milk? the health visitor advised us to try it. It’s thicker so it helps with the reflux

Sorry I know you were asking about calpol but I just thought I’d try recommend some other things that might help. I was googling different things every day for hours just to try to find out what was wrong. It’s so heart breaking. My boy is 11 weeks today and we’ve finally just got him sorted in the last few days. I really hope you find something to help her. xx

We had this with our LO. We got onto Aptamil Pepti 1 by the GP for CMPA. This could be an option if your speak to your GP as our little girl was very similar!

my boy is 10 weeks tomorrow and has been inconsolable for the last week or two, cries nearly 24/7. i live alone with him and my 2yr old. he has reflux and has just cut his first tooth😫got his 8 week jabs and our 8 week checkup in the morning so will be asking for infant gaviscon for his reflux (my toddler was given the same for reflux at around the same age and i found it helped a little) but all i can do is give calpol for the teething😫just here to say you’re not alone♥️

My boy was exactly like this and after trying gaviscon (which constipated him horribly) and omeprazole (which made no change), he's been put on prescription formula for a cows milk allergy and it is starting to make a difference!!
I wouldn't use Calpol unless she has a fever or a Dr/nurse tells you they think it's a good idea. If you use the Calpol too much it might lose it's effectiveness if she ever gets sick. I hope she feels better soon!
