Breast pump advice

Hey! I have been breast pumping since my baby was born mid-July. I’m just past the 4 week mark and my supply has dropped. I did see that this is common “week 4 reset” thing. I pump every two hours and am trying to eat and drink more (didn’t know how hard this would be as a first time mom lol)

My main concern is that the last week or so, just my right nipple has started to crack/so sore and is pretty freaking painful now while pumping. I have gone up and down a flange size and use nipples cream to assist with rubbing but nothing is working.

If it doesn’t get better I may have to quit and I don’t want that 😭

Any recommendations? / advice?

Can you latch your baby instead?

If you are exclusively pumping you need to replace your pump parts every month. They wear down quicker and produce less output when there's not enough suction. Have you changed your parts yet?

They do make breast pump lube to help during really sore times as well. I’ve used it and it has helped when I’m extremely sore.

I exclusively pumped for 8 months. I SWEAR by the Pumpin Pals flanges. They were my go to flanges throughout my journey, they never made me sore and worked really well. You do have to stay stationary with them or use a wall pump but tbh it was worth the sacrifice in mobility. Also eat oatmeal crème pies!! Idk why but they boost supply!

Get an IBCLC (lactation consultant). They can help you so much.

Yes I dont even like little Debbie's oatmeal creme pies but I eat 2 every day! And lots of coconut water

I believe you can go online and get one through your insurance and the one that I got that is my personal favorite is the hands-free one that just slides into your nursing bra

Mines did the same that try getting some nipple balm and putting it on before and after you pump to help with the cracking! And if you can an ice pack if any kind on your nips when they get sore, it might feel weird or hurt a bit but it helps a lot. As far as milk production I found that any kind of oats boosted my supply so oatmeal pies, smoothly with oats or just plain oatmeal, also make sure to drink tons of water and electrolytes your milk will not increase if you are dehydrated in the slightest

When do children fully understand you?

My son is nearly two and I’ve been wondering lately when will he fully understand what I’m trying to tell him ?

Losing my actual mind

Right, so my 3 week old will not stop crying unless she’s breastfeeding. But, if I feed her constantly, then she screeches because she’s taking far too much, which results in trapped wind.
How in the hell do I get her to stop crying, so I can actually take two minutes for myself. I’m hardly eating, showering happens past midnight when she’s finally settled and forget about something as simple as brushing my hair.
Seriously, is this normal behaviour? Because everyone is suggesting I just let her cry out, but that isn’t happening, because I refuse to let her cry to the point where she coughs, and she won’t stop anyway.

Is it normal to feel postpartum depression a year after having a baby I felt fine after my second baby was born but around 6 months postpartum I started feeling very depressed and having a hard time connecting with my kids I just don’t even feel like a person anymore I’m now 9 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and feel absolutely no connection to this pregnancy I’m afraid I won’t feel a connection with this baby at all once they are born.(it’s not just the kids tho I also feel like I lost a connection with my partner I can’t stand him I do love him I just seem to feel annoyed at everything my partner or my kids do I don’t like anybody touching me I don’t like cuddles with any on them and I feel horrible about it )

Wee!

Morning,
This is the third day in a row my 6 month old has peed through his nappy, vest and sleeping bag 😫
After the first time we sized him up from 3 to 4s, after the second night we moved to Pampers - and after tonight I don’t know what to do!
We change him once through the night anyway but don’t want to wake him (or ourselves) up anymore than we have to!
He’s a side sleeper could it be that??
What else is there to do to stop it from happening? 😂

12 week old never slept through the night

Hi all, my baby is 12 weeks old and has always slept in the next to me crib fine. He can settle himself to sleep initially but he wakes up around 3-4 times a night for a feed. Everyone I speak to seems to have had a full nights sleep but I haven’t had one since he’s been born (or since about 25 weeks pregnant) He only wakes up and feeds for 10 minutes and goes straight to back to sleep but it would be nice for a full night or at least something longer than 4 hours.. Please tell me I’m not alone 🤣
