My little girl has always slept in her room perfectly fine, even used to ask to go to bed, she would sleep in the dark with the door shut from 7pm -5.30/6am no dramas⦠the last few weeks sheās been soooo upset before bed most nights, saying sheās scared of this & that (things like her walls & curtainsš) so we have given her a little night light which sheās happy with but every single night multiple times sheās waking up crying, saying sheās scared or even not saying sheās scared just waking up standing at her door calling for us crying bless her! I am exhausted as I find it really difficult to go back to sleep once woken anyway! She must also be exhausted as she doesnāt wake up any later when sheās had a disturbed night but is still bouncing around being crazy in the daytime š please say this is just a phase I donāt remember my eldest doing this!

Hey my daughter is 3 next week and we are also in this phase š«©
Last night she was up from 1.30 till about 3am giving all the excuses under the sun. We also have a nightlight.
We have āscared of the dark, needs a wee, scared of monsters, doesnāt want to sleep in her bed and wants to be in with meā so Iām praying itās a phase š

I used to be scared of the noise the toilet made, and the plug hole. My parents helped me make a potion to tip down the loo to scare away the monsters, and my dad made up a story about the friendly little guy that lived in the plug hole. I wonder if thereās something you can do with her that will help her see the scary things as not scary any more? If the nightlight helped a bit, maybe she needs a little torch she can shine at any scary things?

We are having exactly this with our three year old. Last night it was the curtains and the shadow they make. And heās not getting to sleep until at least 8pm every night. Iām really hoping it is a phase!

We have to send our dog in before bedtime to 'scare all the monsters away'
