Hm I don’t know if this is helpful or not, but this is what we do: everytime I go to the bathroom (which is a lot cause I’m pregnant) I take my son as well and he sits on his little toilet while I go. He cheers and loves it. I let him flush the toilet and we wash our hands. He loves doing what I am doing. Maybe your son doesn’t like being the only one who has to do it (or so he thinks)?

I'm in the same boat. I dont know what it will take to get my 4-year-old boy to start asking for the toilet. At the moment, I have to ask him, and when he says yes, I make him sit on the toilet. He will go, but is having difficulty trying to get him to hold down his little penis as his pee goes everywhere on the floor when his on the toilet. He is scared even to touch it. 🤦🏽‍♀️ But he will pee and poo in the toilet. When playing, he is easily distracted and won't say anything. Every time I put him on the toilet, he jumps off if his pee doesn't come down fast enough. He has very short patience.

We used bribery with chocolate and sweets. I know you’re not supposed to 💁. It worked.
He isn’t allowed sweets and childcare unless a special occasion so the, we had ‘toilet buttons’ one for a wee and two for a poo. He was dry within 2 days. We then just wean them off, he had to do 2 wees for one etc
