Advice about milk

I think my baby is fully allergic to cows milk or the protein in it. It's taken me 4 months for them to take me seriously and she is now on the special aptimal one shes been on it a week now and we are still struggling to get milk down her and keep it down and also she is screaming in pain constantly to the point we are having to give her calpol to help ease the pain do we carry on this milk or do I ask to be switch to fully off the cows milk

That sounds horrific. I would ask for the fully cow free at this point. Once it’s under control then you can try the aptamil one to see if it triggers a reoccurrence.

We were on this first - it's a lot more runny so more likely to have acid reflux or the milk come up. It takes 2 weeks for old milk to leave their system and 2 weeks for new milk to get which is so annoying!

Her stomach is also adjusting so she may have gas pain so doesn't want her milk - we had the same issue. It's also a lot bitter than cows milk so she may not like the taste.

I would say to persevere for a bit if you can. If she is refusing completely go back and ask for nutrimigen 1. This is the next one up the ladder. Neocate is a completely hydrolysed one but usually only given when the other options have been tried. Just bear in mind it takes weeks for their stomachs to adjust so you may still baby isn't comfortable when you switch x

Sleeping on your back

Hi guys, I've been told so many different things about ways of sleeping. I try to sleep on my left but I always find I sleep on my back. Is this ok?

Postpartum Hair Loss

Anyone else experiencing postpartum hair loss around 3 months? I genuinely had no idea this was even a thing until it started happening to me! 😩 Any tips for helping with it? And does it actually all grow back? 🥲

17 month old not walking

My son has just turned 17 months and still isn’t walking, he can crawl, pull himself up on things & cruise along furniture. He’s also able to take a few steps if we play a game of back & fourth but gives up quite quickly.

I think he may be double jointed, I’ve spent far too long on Google & im really concerned / starting to not sleep because of it.

Has anyone had any positive outcomes?
I feel like I’m not doing enough etc 😩

Doing so much better

Just wanted to make a post to any other new mums out there who are fixated on your baby’s sleep.
For the first three months it was all I could focus on, making sure she got enough daytime sleep to help stretch out her nights / focused heavily on wake windows. I realised I became obsessive and it was making motherhood so rigid.
For the past few weeks I have thrown it all out the window and have trusted my instinct, stopped tracking on huckleberry and very loosely follow the clock but more so look at my baby’s cues.
Her sleep is still very much up and down but she has given me night stretches of 6 hours at times. The one significant improvement has been in myself and my enjoyment of motherhood. I actually feel free? 🤣
I know schedules work for some but ultimately wake windows are just an average and every baby is different.
I really would recommend to anyone who is struggling with this to just put everything down even for a few days and see if you notice a difference in yourself
I’m here if anyone wants to chat about the wormhole of sleep, the routine of searching everything on Google and the worry of everyday feeling like a battle of naps 💕
