Send help. I’m trying to get my EBF 13 month old to sleep in his cot, at least the first half of the night to start with.
If I transfer him and he doesn’t wake up it’s usually ok. But if he wakes up, he screams - like there’s no tomorrow! It’s so overwhelming. I end up just putting him back in the big bed with me if it’s too much.
Anyone in a similar position with any advice??

Also in the same boat with my 16 month old. She used to scream and throw herself out my arms absolutely inconsolable if I attempted to settle her without the boob. But for the last few months I have been trying to rock her/sing to her/move her around the room and comfort. To begin with she would not settle at all and I'd give up after a few minutes and breastfeed. However I've been trying to not let her fully fall asleep on the boob, just calm herself down and then I'll try get her full asleep by rocking/shhing. It does seem to be working (slowly but surely!) I've noticed a massive improvement in her settling from rocking/singing and then transfering back to her cot. I set myself the goal not to cosleep before midnight and I've mostly managed to keep to this. She's a very sensitive girly so im happy to keep working on this for now. Best of luck xx

My little girl co slept with us until she was 14 months. I tried everything to get her in her own room and cot which didn’t work. In the end I bought a mini cot for for our bedroom, we got her used to that in with us. Initially she only slept in it for few hours and then came in with us, gradually it got longer and longer until she was sleeping in her cot all night. . For the past 2 weeks my little girl has now transitioned into her room and her cot. I was told by a coach for a co slept baby it’s just too much to go straight into their own room when they have been co sleeping with us. This is absolutely my experience. You will get there, lots of patience and time and I’m sure it will all be fine x

I have cosleept with my 11 month old since he was 5 weeks and I was worried that trying to put him in a cot he would either hurt himself as he is used to so much space or would be inconsolable going into it so ive opted for a floor bed (double) so he is on night 3 in his own room in the floor bed with me. I think its going to be a slow process and mainly me letting go and being in a different room than him.
If your set up with a cot is what works for you then im sending all crossed fingers and toes luck your way that all of a sudden it just snaps into place that it works beautifully for every transfer 🫰 x
