From cosleeping to cot 13month old

Send help. I’m trying to get my EBF 13 month old to sleep in his cot, at least the first half of the night to start with.

If I transfer him and he doesn’t wake up it’s usually ok. But if he wakes up, he screams - like there’s no tomorrow! It’s so overwhelming. I end up just putting him back in the big bed with me if it’s too much.

Anyone in a similar position with any advice??

Also in the same boat with my 16 month old. She used to scream and throw herself out my arms absolutely inconsolable if I attempted to settle her without the boob. But for the last few months I have been trying to rock her/sing to her/move her around the room and comfort. To begin with she would not settle at all and I'd give up after a few minutes and breastfeed. However I've been trying to not let her fully fall asleep on the boob, just calm herself down and then I'll try get her full asleep by rocking/shhing. It does seem to be working (slowly but surely!) I've noticed a massive improvement in her settling from rocking/singing and then transfering back to her cot. I set myself the goal not to cosleep before midnight and I've mostly managed to keep to this. She's a very sensitive girly so im happy to keep working on this for now. Best of luck xx

My little girl co slept with us until she was 14 months. I tried everything to get her in her own room and cot which didn’t work. In the end I bought a mini cot for for our bedroom, we got her used to that in with us. Initially she only slept in it for few hours and then came in with us, gradually it got longer and longer until she was sleeping in her cot all night. . For the past 2 weeks my little girl has now transitioned into her room and her cot. I was told by a coach for a co slept baby it’s just too much to go straight into their own room when they have been co sleeping with us. This is absolutely my experience. You will get there, lots of patience and time and I’m sure it will all be fine x

I have cosleept with my 11 month old since he was 5 weeks and I was worried that trying to put him in a cot he would either hurt himself as he is used to so much space or would be inconsolable going into it so ive opted for a floor bed (double) so he is on night 3 in his own room in the floor bed with me. I think its going to be a slow process and mainly me letting go and being in a different room than him.

If your set up with a cot is what works for you then im sending all crossed fingers and toes luck your way that all of a sudden it just snaps into place that it works beautifully for every transfer 🫰 x

17 month old not walking

My son has just turned 17 months and still isn’t walking, he can crawl, pull himself up on things & cruise along furniture. He’s also able to take a few steps if we play a game of back & fourth but gives up quite quickly.

I think he may be double jointed, I’ve spent far too long on Google & im really concerned / starting to not sleep because of it.

Has anyone had any positive outcomes?
I feel like I’m not doing enough etc 😩

Doing so much better

Just wanted to make a post to any other new mums out there who are fixated on your baby’s sleep.
For the first three months it was all I could focus on, making sure she got enough daytime sleep to help stretch out her nights / focused heavily on wake windows. I realised I became obsessive and it was making motherhood so rigid.
For the past few weeks I have thrown it all out the window and have trusted my instinct, stopped tracking on huckleberry and very loosely follow the clock but more so look at my baby’s cues.
Her sleep is still very much up and down but she has given me night stretches of 6 hours at times. The one significant improvement has been in myself and my enjoyment of motherhood. I actually feel free? 🤣
I know schedules work for some but ultimately wake windows are just an average and every baby is different.
I really would recommend to anyone who is struggling with this to just put everything down even for a few days and see if you notice a difference in yourself
I’m here if anyone wants to chat about the wormhole of sleep, the routine of searching everything on Google and the worry of everyday feeling like a battle of naps 💕

Removing childs monobrow wrong or right

My sister and brother always had monobrows and were both bullied till they were old enough to remove it themselves. my middle child came out with one and I plucked it and now they're older I use wax sheets on it whenever bits start to reappear I think its basic maintenance of a child like clipping their nails or brushing their teeth

Double pram for second baby

Lo will be about 2y9m when baby is due… I’ve bought two prams since having my first as I found my first too bulky so went for a lightweight stroller as we mainly travel around by car so reluctant to buy a third unless it’s completely necessary and I find double strollers are always huge, but would like to ask if anyone found they needed the double stroller once they had their second? Are there any other options? I’m wondering if the slings that can be attached under the pram would be sufficient enough or if they’re safe as an attachment… Tia

RSV Vaccine

Could really use some advise! I had the RSV vaccine at 30 weeks pregnant and 2 days later went into premature labour despite a straightforward pregnancy prior and no clear signs as to what caused this.

I have now received an appointment for my baby to have the RSV vaccine. Am I right to be apprehensive given it is such a new vaccine? What is the the right thing to do 🙈

I am not usually one to question a vaccine and he will receive all of the other vaccines without question
