I’m 17+5 and my bump has shrunk (I didn’t know this could happen?!) I have zero symptoms and I can’t feel movement (never have). I’m really panicking but I can’t get a reassurance scan anywhere. Is this normal??

i would ring your midwife centre and they will direct you from there, they will probably tell you to go into your antenatal ward and be on the monitor

Wouldn’t worry too much maybe baby has just moved. But call midwife and ask for advice x

I had this too at a similar gestation. I think it’s because any bump you had before then is mainly bloat. That kind of settles in your second trimester as hormones regulate. Then when you get to 20 weeks(ish, obviously depends on body type, number of pregnancies etc) you get a more pronounced ‘true’ bump. Similarly, hormones settling usually means lessening of symptoms. Obviously if you’re worried maybe have a private reassurance scan, but this all sounds quite typical to me! :)

I think it’s best to contact triage and let them know what is going on. The number should be on your front page pregnancy book. They will definitely call you in and have you strapped to a monitor to listen out for baby’s heart rate you also get given a button that you would press every time you feel movement. If they have any concerns, they may ask you to stay in but if heartbeat and movement improve, they would discharge you. I hope this helps lovely
