C section tomorrow

Having my c section tomorrow at 39+5.
Due to go in for 7:15 then I’m no 3 out of 3 ladies to go down.

I’m absolutely petrified can anyone give me some positive experience examples 🤣.

Obviously can’t wait to meet baby girl but the rest of it is giving me the fear 🤦🏻‍♀️

Awww congrats! If it makes you feel any better my planned c-section was honestly a great experience. I went in at 6am, first out of two, baby was out by 10am. Everyone was super nice and explained things well. I asked if I could have gas & air for the spinal as I was nervous and they let me which was nice. Had my Spotify playlist on and held my husband’s hand the whole time during, and had the baby on me as soon as she was out. Afterward I got the catheter out pretty quick and was able to walk around, feed baby, have a snack. Ended up asking my husband to go home to our toddler earlier than we planned so I could just enjoy the newborn bubble. Good luck, you’ll do great!

It was so much less scary than I thought! Everyone was so nice and I didn’t feel a thing when spine stuff was done.
It’s a little weird. You can’t feel any pain at all but you can feel push pull/tug sensations but it’s all done sooo quickly. 20 min and I was being shown my baby 🥰 and then I didn’t really think about what was happening behind the curtain thing I just had eyes for him.

Please don’t worry. I was petrified heading to the hospital. I had the anaesthetist come and visit me and he spoke about the procedure from start to finish.

I was due to go down at lunch time but didn’t end up going down till just 5pm due to some emergencies which put me on edge and cranky as I hadn’t eaten or had any water.

The anaesthetist I had finished at 5pm which set me off again but the ladies in the prep room were lovely. Kept me calm asking me random questions. I did tell the anaesthetist I had though to F Off 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 I did have a student in the room at the time of the C Section and he came over afterwards thanking me for allowing him in theatre. 🥰

Honestly sounds so silly but don’t be worried at all! The care you’ll receive is brilliant! I had an emergency c section with my first and due an elective one in a few weeks. It’s the craziness most surreal experience! It doesn’t hurt at all so don’t worry you might feel something you won’t! Just of them getting baby out but not painful. It also goes super fast. You’ll be in and out before you even had time to realise what’s going on! I truly loved mine I felt so safe in their hands even though it was an emergency. You will get to hold your baby straight away and time just melts away!

I was even joking with the person watching my blood pressure and having a good chat while my partner cut his cord and did his nappy! It’s such a calm environment honestly!

I recovered fast too! I had my catheter out within 6 hours and was up on my feet. Not saying it wasn’t painful after but the more you try be normal the better you’ll feel. After 3 weeks I was back being completely normal! Xx

I had to have an emergency c-section but now I wouldn’t have it any other way. If I have a second baby, I will for sure get a planned one. It was over in a second and the recovery was super easy as well thank god

I had an emergency c section, which I'm glad I had in the end 😊.
Don't get me wrong the first few days recovery are rough but just keep up with the pain meds 😊.

I had the best experience of a planned c-section! It's so exciting waking up that day and KNOWING you will meet your little one. The people in the room will have done this soooo many times and they are fab at making you feel at ease. And the recovery from a csection is totally not as scary as you're led to believe. Take your painkillers regularly and drink peppermint tea for gas! Also I was recommended Lactulose stool softener for afterwards by a midwife and honesty it was a god send. Enjoy those new baby snuggles!!

Family meeting baby

First time mum due in a few weeks and wondering what people did with regards to immediate family (parents, siblings and partners) meeting baby for the first time.
Did you have just parents come to the hospital and then the rest of the family (siblings and partners) over to the house later, if so, when?
did you have all immediate family visit the hospital, or no-one visit the hospital?

Anterior placenta babies

Mums who have birth to babies with an anterior placenta…. how’s your nervous system doing 😅

My baby loves to stuff his face into something soft to get to sleep and i’m just riddled with anxiety ready to take it off him as soon as he does.

Who do we contact?!

This may be stupid question but im feeling completely lost and frustrated 😤😂

Im currently 6w and had two previous miscarriages. Obviously im very anxious and every little detail/symptom is being over analised a million times because what else do i have to do 🙄

But for example yesterday i believed i had some spotting which sent me into a tiny, slightly over the top meltdown to which i messaged my GP asking to be seen the following day for reassurance ect, to which they messaged saying i should go to A&E to be refered to the EPAC. So i though F-that as last time i waited over 15 hours to be seen as i was sent to the wrong department and they 'couldnt find me' like i was some strange anonymy. So i called EPAC and they said i need a referal from my GP (screams internally). Which i said my GP said they cannot refer me and basically wont do anything to do with pregnancy so what do i do? She said well it isnt an emergency im sure everything will be okay 🤭 so my question is who TF do we call/contact or whatever in these scenarios because im at a loss and quietly lossing my marbles. I mean even just bringing me in to talk about my concerns would of been better then told 'im sure itll be okay'. Right okay then 👍
