Bedtime with a 2 year old

Any and all tips welcome.
My child hates bedtime. We have a routine and every night it takes over an hour to put her to sleep.
I’ve stopped rocking her (she’s heavy and I can’t make it work for longer than 15 minutes) so now I’m singing the same song over and over again and rubbing her back. Admittedly, it’s frustrating and I dread it every night. We tried sleep training and she threw up all over herself and cried so hard. It broke my heart and since then we have been laying her in bed, singing softly, and rubbing her back. I would love any tips on how to help her sleep independently without crying it out!
Thank you 😊

Have you tried reading to her? My daughter loves bed time because she knows it’s story time. I let her pick1-2 books (depending on how big they are) and storytime doesn’t start until she lays down (I’m really strict about that rule and will stop the story if she gets up so now she knows story time is laydown time) a lot of times she falls asleep as we read the 2nd book/story. Sometimes she doesn’t fall asleep during story but by that times she’s sighing and sleepy. Also either me or my husband (we let her choose) will hold her hand or foot to sleep (we let her choose this too 😅) usually when I hold her hand/foot I’ll rub it lightly and that also helps her fall asleep faster. She usually wants me to read her story’s and her dad to hold her hand to sleep.

We used a variation of the Ferber method for sleep training. We also have the same simple routine every night where we pick up toys at 8, then change into PJ's, brush teeth, and tuck in. We turn on the night light and the white noise at some point during the routine, prior to our son entering the room. He takes 5-15 minutes to fall asleep from that point, but doesn't cry.

Is she tired enough? Anything else to finish off the day? Sensory experience before bedtime helps us

We also talk through day what we have done and liked and didn’t like.

You were smart not do sleep training!

Try reading the book "the calm approach to baby sleep" by Hannah Love. This talks through gentle steps for gradual settling to sleep, making sure everything is set up to ensure they are tired enough and then the slow removal of support so that little one can start to need parent input less to get to sleep. It worked for my little one and a few others that I know tried it too. She often does a free online sleep club which was great to get individual feedback on what would be best next steps too.

May have said something bad unintentionally

So a few weeks ago I went to see my cousins baby she's now 5 months old I held her once and interacted with her ect then gave her back to her dad they offered me to hold her again

It just came out and I said I'm okay I'm not really a baby person

I know some people love to hold baby's and cuddle but that not really me.

I wish I had t said it now I feel like a knob I just ment that's I was okay not to hold her again and that I would be more interactive once she's a lil older eg sitting up and crawling ect I find smaller babies quiet fragile I was even like this with my own , I didn't mean it wrong , how can I apologize or am I over thinking it

I didn't mean to offend them at all.

Sleep training?

I am waiting for my daughter to be 6 months to start a sleep training method. Currently, she only does naps on me and nights are divided into two where my husband keeps her until 10:30-11:30 (she sleeps on him) and then we co-sleep. I am not sleeping obviously since she eats often or wakes up because she wants comfort🙃.

Any advice? What did you do? What do you recommend?

She’s extremely attached to both of us and we tried the cry out method when she hit the 4month regression and it was HORRIBLE. I cried with her, she was way too young. She’s 5 months now and we’re going on a trip but as soon as we’re back, for my sanity we need to do something about it🥲.

Independent Sleeping/ Sleep Training

I need help with independent sleeping. My little one is 9 nearly 10 months now and I’m considering teaching her to fall asleep on her own but I’m not sure where to start. I know a lot of people do the crying it out method but idk if I want to jump right into that 🤧. Right now I usually rock her to sleep or she’ll fall asleep on the bottle or occasionally if she’s really exhausted and can’t switch off, I soothe her after she cries a little. But I can see that she’s starting to get frustrated at she can’t fall asleep on her own and trying to close her eyes and lay down to sleep but she’s struggling. So any tips on how to start or what helped other mums would be much appreciated. 💕

CRY IT OUT METHOD

Can I let my 6 month old “cry it out” when I’m putting her to sleep? She’s bathed, fed, cuddled, burped and just takes her time to fall asleep I have to sit next to her cot. I also have a toddler so it’s hard when I’m committing all of this to her and just letting him go to sleep it’s ruining my mental health sitting here for ages.
