My 17m old son has favoured his dad for at least 6 months and has not gone through a stage where he favours me, it’s to the point where he will choose his dad over me every single time for everything, when he’s ill wants his dad, just in general for everything, it’s starting to actually make me feel shit because I’m like naturally don’t babies favour their mum mostly? We are very 50/50 parents, I’m at work mon to fri and so is dad so isn’t like he sees one of us more than the other. Has anyone been through this? I know it can be normal but for this long? It’s starting to genuinely make me feel shit.

My LG has always favoured her dad, and she was 3 in May. She’s just a daddy’s girl. Sometimes it shifts, sometimes it’s just their preference. Doesn’t mean we’re shit, just means they’re little people asserting their opinions and feelings.

Try not to take it personally, my son the same age also going through this phase. He loves dad! They will.come back
I was thinking today about how different my life is now that I have a baby compared to my husbands life. My husband went to work today and I spent the entire day on my own looking after our 11 week old baby, he has been out this evening at a work dinner and drinks meaning I’ve also been on my own for whole evening. I will be the one getting up throughout the night tonight to do feeds and changes meanwhile he will just sleep through them all or if he does wake he will just roll over and go back to sleep then tomorrow he will go back to work and i’ll do it all again. Does anyone else feel like this? Does anyone else get very frustrated? I am so appreciative that he works full time so I can stay home and I know work comes with its own pressures but sometimes it feels so hard and tiring and draining. I feel like when he offers to look after her so I can do something simple like shower he almost feels like he’s doing such a good thing and being an amazing and supportive husband whereas to me it’s extremely basic and I feel like what I do and the extreme way my life has changed is not fully appreciated…

I've emailed the manager this evening but would appreciate some advice on if this has happened to anyone else, or any nursery workers who can reassure or advise.
A little boy from the same nursery room as my son followed another father and son out of the room and out of the front door at pick-up today.
We noticed him as he came out of the front door and asked the father if he was with him as well and he said no, at which point a member of staff came out and took the little boy back into the room. This nursery worker was in the office and I'm pretty sure only came out because she heard us asking if the boy was with him. She then took him back to the nursery room ahead of us and didn't say another to us - another nursery worker was in the office came out and didn't say anything either.
We are really concerned that he had managed to leave the room and two doors unnoticed and could potentially have left the nursery altogether.
I keep thinking that could have been my son and I feel awful that the parents don't know this could have happened.
I've written to the nursery this evening but would be interested to hear thoughts from others. I've lost complete faith in the nursery but my son is so happy there. This is an unimaginable situation and I don't know how to process it. Is emailing the nursery manager enough? Thanks xxx

I’m a first time mom who really doesn’t have a village for support. I live far from family and friends. I stay home with my almost 2 year. The only time I’m ever away from her is when my husband stays with her.
Ive been thinking about finding a babysitter for the sake of our marriage. We need to have some time together without her. I’m just sooo scared to trust someone with my baby.
I came across a college student online who has availability. I’m going to set up a phone call to get the feel of her. How should I go about this? What questions should I ask them?
Thank you!

Both of us work full-time jobs, thankfully we both leave for work first thing in the morning and have his parents to watch the baby. By the time I get off work it’s 5, then he goes and cooks while I get baby time since he usually manages to get out early. After that, we eat and watch a tv series, followed by him showering then me later. Then there’s chores and other things I need to get done around the house or just adult-wise in general.
With all that said, he’s been getting upset with me this week that I’m constantly on the go, trying to complete tasks. He wants more intimacy (not even sex necessarily) and it makes me feel like I’m being a shitty wife and mom not pouring as much time directly into him and the baby. But if I stop doing all the chores, it overwhelms me and everything feels chaotic. I don’t know how to win here and it’s kinda breaking my heart…

Ladies, would you be comfortable with your husband being around his brother who’s also married but openly cheating on his wife and having a girlfriend? And even being on FaceTime calls with the brother and the girlfriend? I’m never around when he talks to the brother and girlfriend on the phone.

So at our last vax (4 months) his nurse said it’d probably be best to start his solids at 6 months adjusted as he was born 3 weeks premature his dr (me and baby’s family dr) also said the same thing baby boy turns 5 months end of this month and whenever a family or friend is like ooou I could give you this right now I’m like well actually aha no or they’ll be like well my parents and grandparents did or well my mom has me and my ) siblings so i know what advice I’m giving you is good and they’ll be like wow just always listening to what a dr says he’s your baby you can start solids when you want it’s like maybe I’m just paranoid asf bc baby was in the nicu and it was rough pregnancy on the both of us but like what’ll happen if someone does give baby a little sauce right now or something they won’t because basically no one gets left alone with him but it makes me panic when people think it’s funny to suggest to do it and when did your little ones start solids and if you got any of these comments how would you start to react to them because saying well this is what their drs and nurses say just makes them laugh and ignore me and like i don’t really know what to tell anyone anymore or like am I crazy and he could start them tomorrow if he wanted
