Your toddlers bestie parents

My daughter has a lil bestie at nursery.

She is always talking about him. They run up to each other and hug etc. It's honestly the sweetest thing.

I've only ever seen his parents like once. But I'm thinking next time I see them should I just be a lil begfriend and try to start a convo with them.

Like hey our kids are friends should we be friends 😂😅🤣 Lord help me, I am rusty.

No but seriously.... What do you do?

Do you make friends with your toddlers friend parents or just leave it alone.

We don't have friends in this area. So it would be nice if some weekends she can just go to the park and play with him.

Go for it! Just open with "Oh are you X's parents? My daughter is always talking about him!" And take the conversation from there 😊

Could you arrange a play date for the children? Say your child has been begging you and take it from there. Most mums are desperate for a park visit where they don't have to run around

Agree with the above comments. Just start it as a convo about the kids/a play date.

I met my best friend because our kids were besties at nursery! She left her number with the nursery teacher to pass along to me and it went from there x

Feel Like I Can’t Win With Husband

Both of us work full-time jobs, thankfully we both leave for work first thing in the morning and have his parents to watch the baby. By the time I get off work it’s 5, then he goes and cooks while I get baby time since he usually manages to get out early. After that, we eat and watch a tv series, followed by him showering then me later. Then there’s chores and other things I need to get done around the house or just adult-wise in general.

With all that said, he’s been getting upset with me this week that I’m constantly on the go, trying to complete tasks. He wants more intimacy (not even sex necessarily) and it makes me feel like I’m being a shitty wife and mom not pouring as much time directly into him and the baby. But if I stop doing all the chores, it overwhelms me and everything feels chaotic. I don’t know how to win here and it’s kinda breaking my heart…

Starting solids/rude comments

So at our last vax (4 months) his nurse said it’d probably be best to start his solids at 6 months adjusted as he was born 3 weeks premature his dr (me and baby’s family dr) also said the same thing baby boy turns 5 months end of this month and whenever a family or friend is like ooou I could give you this right now I’m like well actually aha no or they’ll be like well my parents and grandparents did or well my mom has me and my ) siblings so i know what advice I’m giving you is good and they’ll be like wow just always listening to what a dr says he’s your baby you can start solids when you want it’s like maybe I’m just paranoid asf bc baby was in the nicu and it was rough pregnancy on the both of us but like what’ll happen if someone does give baby a little sauce right now or something they won’t because basically no one gets left alone with him but it makes me panic when people think it’s funny to suggest to do it and when did your little ones start solids and if you got any of these comments how would you start to react to them because saying well this is what their drs and nurses say just makes them laugh and ignore me and like i don’t really know what to tell anyone anymore or like am I crazy and he could start them tomorrow if he wanted

Am I tripping or has this man lost his mind???

We came home from picking him up from work and I’ve been having this pain in my stomach. I told him I’m in pain I need to lay down. I had planned on making dinner when I felt better but the pain didn’t go away. It’s 9pm, and the kids haven’t eaten. I fell asleep and was expecting him to figure out what we were gonna eat. While I was asleep, the kids completely trashed the place while he was playing the game. Then he comes in the room saying “what are we gonna eat, if you knew you wasn’t cooking you should’ve said that when we got home.” On top of this, he came in the room, saw how there was trash (we have a 1 year old) on the floor, and started kicking the trash to my side of the room saying “this is disgusting. I’m not cleaning this up why is it all on my side.” I had to get up, make our 5 year old a quick chicken quesadilla and some sweet potato fries. He just sat there. Then after I made her food I went back to lay down and he came and tried to physically get me out of the bed saying “you need to shower and you’re in my spot get up and go shower.” Forces me out the bed and says he’ll order something. I told him our daughter needs to get in her bedtime clothes and he needs to do night time duties with her. He didnt say or do anything. So he left it alone and after I finally got her in the bed he sat next to me and said “I don’t like eating late I’m not ordering nothing. I’m getting in the shower.” So now I have to cook for myself or just not eat. Like I don’t understand why he has to be so harsh and manipulative. Am I tripping ?

3 month old feeding

My baby is 15 weeks (3 months) and she still likes to eat every hour. She will eat for like 10-15 minutes and then will play and then want to eat a little more almost like to finish the meal it feels like?? She is gaining weight well and I’m SAHM so I’m able to do this, but is this normal???

Parenting help with an almost 4 year old

First things first I’m trying to be a lot better about setting boundaries and sticking to them and what I say instead of giving in. I know I probably made things harder for myself cause I’ve been pretty lenient but we’ve been having a lot more outbursts with my oldest recently and I am not sure what to do about it anymore.

My son has not been listening very well to my directions and honestly just blatantly ignoring and pushing the limits lately and I don’t really know what kinds of things I can do to enforce the rules better. He’s also just been acting out like crazy and having meltdown after meltdown and talking back.

I’ve tried a time out to take him away from the whole situation and he has started to think it’s funny so obviously that isn’t seeming to work. I’ve taken toys away if he hasn’t been listening to the rules with those (ex: he rides his bike where he’s not allowed to/goes too far away, he got his bike taken away) which works in some situations but not all, he’s gotten cartoons taken away for the day, treats taken away, etc. I’ve been really working on the natural consequences but I don’t know what a natural consequence for talking back or throwing a fit when I say no would be. Or how would you go about if your kid swung at you to hit you when they’re angry that you said no to a popsicle for example.

I’m just really struggling with this phase of toddlerhood where a meltdown comes from anything not going his way and I understand some of the developmental stuff and whatnot but I’m losing my mind feeling like I’m butting heads with him all day everyday
