Anyone have any positive sleep stories?

My son is 11 months now. He slept fine as a newborn then the 4 month regression hit and he started sleeping through after that but then around 8 months his sleep was up and down and we've had two months of split nights. I've tried everything lengthening and shortening naps and wake windows, moving bedtime.earlier or later and nothing seems to work. Can anyone give me any hope that things may just resolve on their own?

Can’t say I have a for sure answer but I have a friend whose son just could not stay asleep. She took him for a sleep study and found out he had low iron. They added iron supplements and he started sleeping through the night. Maybe talk to your pediatrician about testing for low iron and seeing if that helps.

I’m having the same issue so following along!

I was told it could be because separation anxiety peaks at this time!

She said she had to get a referral from their doctor. He wasn’t on formula though. I’d think formula would have enough.

My daughter is a champion sleeper and deserves an award. I'm concerned sometimes how long she can sleep but developmentally she fine so I don't worry. She's doesn't have a strict schedule but she follows one. Sleeps in the afternoon if she wants a nap but not always and is in bed by 8pm or 10pm. Sometimes she'll wake at 6am for a bottle and goes back to bed but usually she wakes around 9 or 10am. I pay attention to her waking cues so I know when she needs sleep. I also raised my sister's kids. 2 out of 3 and they all slept through the night too. There is hope. I feel bad when I hear these stories because sleep is important. After the infant stage of constant feeding I thought I wasn't gonna get sleep but I did. I hope you both get the sleep you deserve. Have you ever added a little porridge in his bottle before bed? A night time routine helps with the night wind down. I also keep low lights in all the rooms to transition to sleep mood.
After reading your last reply definitely check with the pediatrician.

My son is almost 14 months. Up to 10 months he was waking up almost every 2h. My husband did sleep training which helped a lot. My son slept through the night at almost 1year old. Right now he has a bunch of teeth coming, so he wakes up 1x 2x a night.

In my experience, I feel like some babies will sleep on their own when they are ready lol because we did sleep train twice and it got better until it didnt. And one day magically he just decided to sleep through.

Mine is 14 months. He’s been quite a good sleeper in general. I also recommend sleep training. I had to sleep train him and moved his cot to a separate room at 5months because he’s a very noisy sleeper (Slams his legs repetitively on the mattress really hard to fall asleep!). We also weaned off his dummy at 6 months after noticing he used it as sleep association. When he’s teething he would wake up screaming nearly every hour. We gave him Calpol and that was the only thing that helped him to sleep for longer stretches.

We used to dream feed him until 11 months old because we didn’t want him to wake up in the middle of the night hungry, we also changed his nappy so it doesn’t becomes over full in middle of the night. When he’s 13 months old he gradually drank less of his bottle after dinner and no more dream feeding so we just make sure he wears a fresh nappy before putting to sleep.

Transitioning carrycot to seat (pram)

Hello, I am a first time mum and was wondering when mums moved their babies out of the carrycot to the seat? My baby girl loves to look out and be nosey.

Feeling down and defeated

I’m feeling some what down and think I’ve got postnatal depression. My 5 month old is just refusing to do anything but cry on me, not sleep or eat (he does have a clean nappy), and my partner pretty much treats me like I’m his maid and not his partner. I don’t feel at all happy with my life and I just feel stuck. I know I’m not being the best mother I can be but this has become my daily life now. I don’t know what to do. I really don’t want judgment but I’ve never felt so alone. I feel like the worst parent going.

Arm jerking, stiffening and discomfort

My 10 month old is constantly flailing her arms. She also thrusts her arms out in a jerking movement and stiffens her body. She has started to shout with it like shes in discomfort. My GP and the hospital just say its excitement or frustration. We are concerned there are most neurological issues that are not being taken seriously. Its hard to capture it on video as as soon as I get my phone out she stops! I have a few videos that show it well though.

She has had an EEG which was normal. This has been going for months now though....

Any one else's little one do this??

How do structure the day? Anyone else hate being at home?!

3 month old reists any longer/deep sleep which means I baby wear for at least 4 hours of the day in stints. This has been out and about due to summer hols with my 6 yr old, so lots of constant movement. I prefer being out but it does end up being expensive.

I am dreading her return to school as my diary is much less full. Ive had a morning to myself today and a cot nap failed so LO is in the sling at home. He rouses every time I do anything and sitting on the sofa results in me having to jump up and jig him every 15 mins or he wakes up.

What are others with sleep resisters doing with their days? How are you staying sane?

Baby rolling in the night

Hey Everyone, is anyone else’s baby rolling during the night?

My LO just learned this week (she’s almost 4 months) and now it seems like she prefers to sleep on her side😫 I lay her down on her back and then multiple times during the night she’ll move herself onto her side.

Should I keep turning her onto her back or just monitor her? She’s just started sleeping through the night as well so I don’t want to disturb her too much 😭🙈😂

Seems like now she can roll she does it all the time and is trying her hardest to learn how to crawl now 😂😂😂
