I’m due really soon, but honestly, the healing down below part after birth is on my mind honestly how bad is it? What are your guys stories or any advice please 🥹 I bought a peri bottle and perineal relief spray so far, anything else?

The bottle till swelling went down and adult depends while still bleeding was enough for me but honestly not terrible in my case . I never took a Tylenol or anything when offered bc I thought it was manageable for a couple days

You'll need disposable underwear or underwear with pads as you will be bleeding. Look into the frida post partum kit on Amazon. Ice packs definitely help a lot!

Oh and sitz bath !

Oh bless you! I'm actually thinking the same thing! And this is my second pregnancy but 16 year gap and can't remember the healing after part so I tell myself couldn't have been that bad otherwise nobody would have kids haha.
The one thing I do remember though, the constipation was real for me after my son was born. So this time round I've packed some laxatives in my hospital bag that I plan to take after baby is born x

disposable underwear. postpartum pads. disposable postpartum cold pads (they’re like extra long ice packs). witch hazel cooling pads and or foam. and sleep/sit with a pee pad on the bed.
the peri bottle will be your best friend! i think the initial pain lasted for about a week for me? i also had to get stitches because i tired during delivery though .. so that prolonged the pain.. but I’m sure if i didn’t have stitches.. i would have been completely fine after the first week.

The same thing is on my mindddd lol not even labor and delivery 😂

Postpartum cold packs are a godsend!! Also, I recommend stool softeners. Even if you don’t think you need them, use them and thank me later.

I bought #5 always pads and adult diapers and used them both for the first week. It’s just easier than dealing with leaks on your underwear.
I also used Frida ice pads. There’s lots of bruising and swelling feeling after giving birth. You can just use bags of ice also and save money instead. I never used special creams or sprays but people say witch hazel is good. I used wash cloths to dab the areas to dry them after washing with peri bottle.
You’ll need to layback often to take pressure off your pelvic floor and avoid pelvic heaviness. So make sure you have pillows and comfy place to rest.
And I’d highly recommend stool softeners, lax-a-day, and having baby wipes for cleaning behind.

I gave birth 5 weeks ago and they had to cut me and stitch me up, and I have to say, it’s not been that bad, I was shocked I was able to just up and walk the same day I gave birth!
The stitches did ache, but not as bad as I thought, I used ice pads, witch-hazel products and paracetamol. Today I feel completely normal🙏🥰

those tena pants are amazing
i also took a bunch of maternity pads with me when i left the hospital which the midwife said to wet a bit and freeze as a cheaper way of doing the ice pads x

Natural delivery with forceps here due to size of the baby (she was quite big) and they had to stitch me up after. I was able to walk the next morning, highly recommend cooling pads for swelling and disposable underwear. Honestly minimise walking if you can. I tried to do everything myself and found it painful to sit down, only got better after a week. Husband is a former RAF physio and we started pelvic floor exercises 2weeks postpartum (very important😭) You may be constipated so plenty of fibre does help. All the best x🫶🏼

I got some maternity pads that were the pull on kind and look like underwear - felt more secure and covered so I didn’t bleed through. Boots have their own brand which were good and Always too.
I also sat on a blanket rolled into a doughnut shape as it helps take pressure off. You can buy pillows in the shape to avoid having to always roll it up, I think if you just look up something like perineal doughnut pillow on Amazon you’ll find something.
Also ended off having to take lactulose and laxido to soften things up for the toilet. Lactulose you can get from Boots so really recommend, anything to help having more pressure down there is good! Also keeping hydrated!!
I had the spritz for bits spray - I used it for maybe the first 2-3 weeks. I’m unsure of if it actually did anything but it was a good placebo effect anyway.

If you can give birth in water that helps alot! I had no tearing at all as a FTM who pushed for 2 hours. I felt back to normal quite quickly
My 10 month old is constantly flailing her arms. She also thrusts her arms out in a jerking movement and stiffens her body. She has started to shout with it like shes in discomfort. My GP and the hospital just say its excitement or frustration. We are concerned there are most neurological issues that are not being taken seriously. Its hard to capture it on video as as soon as I get my phone out she stops! I have a few videos that show it well though.
She has had an EEG which was normal. This has been going for months now though....
Any one else's little one do this??

How are we getting our LO to sleep at bedtime?

My baby girl is 2 months old, and she recently went through a formula change, she was going regularly, and then all of a sudden she has stopped being regular... its also presenting itself as diarrhea, is that normal??

My son is 11 months now. He slept fine as a newborn then the 4 month regression hit and he started sleeping through after that but then around 8 months his sleep was up and down and we've had two months of split nights. I've tried everything lengthening and shortening naps and wake windows, moving bedtime.earlier or later and nothing seems to work. Can anyone give me any hope that things may just resolve on their own?

My almost 4 month old has always been somewhat a shit sleeper, needing contact naps during the day that have recently had a stop limit at 30 minutes, to waking 1-2 times in the night sleeping in her next to me, to now, over the past few weeks got progressively worse, still contact naps during the day but fights it so hard, has to be rocked with quite some momentum. To slowly each night becoming a co sleeping baby. Which I hate! And I’m also sure she’s not the biggest fan either. To now waking 4-6 times a night, I know it’s more than likely sleep regression but surely there must be a trick I’m missing here? Half the time she won’t even settle on me day or night, or anyone she just cries whilst you’re trying to rock her but would never fall asleep independently so we have to do this. To night time still tossing and turning and crying whilst on me. Patience is dripping away, and my bags are coming in thick and fast 😭😂

My 6 month old suddenly decided sleeping isn’t her thing anymore 😄
Until this point she was a relatively good sleeper. Honestly I can’t complain.
However, this week she sleeps from 7 pm until 1 am peacefully then from 1 am until around 5 am she’s in her active sleep mode.
She’s not waking up but she keeps waking me up with her sudden movements and little cries in her sleep. She’s lifting her legs up and then bashing them down. I’m half asleep because I don’t know if she’s going to wake up and need me or not.
I don’t co-sleep, but for the last two nights I had to because that was the only way to keep her calmer in her sleep.
Anyone else had similar experiences? 🙂
