I’m 31 weeks and I think I’ve made my mind up about a vbac.
I think I’ll book in an elective for 41 weeks (as late as they’ll let me) and see if labour naturally happens before then.
I’m hoping this is the right decision but it’s difficult to differentiate fear over intuition.
Has anyone got any advice on having a vbac? How to physically prepare beforehand and in the hospital?
Just for context, there will be just under 16 months between my first and this baby

I listened to lots of podcasts about vbac and that helped to lay out the real facts and figures and risks for me. It felt much less scary than what the drs were making out.
In terms of physical prep, understanding the way labour progresses and physiological birth is really helpful.

I'd be doing as many pelvic floor exercises as you can, you must keep up with it. I'm sure you are already aware about the 85 percent of vaginal births get stitches stat? My midwife told me that. That's 9 in 10 births. So statistically you'll be getting some, just depends what end of the severe or minor tear scale you are. With that knowledge I'd prepare by batch cooking food, and help around the house as getting around might be difficult for you. All the best 👍

This is exactly what I done as I wanted to avoid induction where possible due to a bad experience with my first. Luckily I went into spontaneous labour at 39weeks. Prep wise, I was terrible - I done about one perineal massage however, I made sure I knew how to push & how to avoid tearing during this phase (how to breathe during the head vs the body, pushing as if you were pushing a tampon out etc.) I told the midwives I wanted guidance and direction and warm compress also.
I got away with no tears and such a better recovery than the c section. So, in my experience, it was largely about how to deal with the pushing and staying calm during the ring of fire rather than the prep beforehand.

I just had one 5 weeks ago. Feel free to ask Amy questions. It well really well for me xx
I am 11w 5 day. I had my ultrasound, and these were my scans. I previously had 2 boys, this pregnancy is completely different. I thought it looked like a boy but the midwife said it is a placenta.

I’m 34 + 2 and I noticed when I was just in the shower that I’m starting to leak colostrum. Is it too soon to start collecting?

What birthing Hospital do you recommend in L.A. County? Did you have a good experience there? I'm closest to Amtelope Valley Medical Center but I want to go somewhere else.
