Baby not wanting to take naps during day at 5 months old

Does anyone else child(ren) at 5 months old not want to take naps during the day? My son just turned 5 months old on the 9th of this month and today he's been really fussy and cranky, that no matter how or what I do to try to calm him down he just would stop! I'm a first time mom and I've done all I could think of after looking up pretty much everything on how to raise a baby/ infant. Rocking, singing to him, giving him a bath and among other ways to relax him, just didn't work. We took him for a car ride because usually that helps at night mainly. He just now went to sleep after patting his butt but I'm afraid that he isnt going to stay asleep, like he has been doing at night. Help a momma out please.

Totally normal they start to go thru a sleep regression anywhere from 4-6 months. It’s gonna be tough but you gotta just hang on it’ll pass. My son was the same at 4.5 months and it took a toll lmao I was so sleep deprived because I would nap when he would nap then he just stopped and I couldn’t nap with him lol

Ya. I went through something similar my kiddo was sooo hard to put down for a nap he was super alert. Granted I also didn’t know how often they are supposed to nap.

If I’m not mistaken around that age that still need 2-3 naps a day?

What helped me was of course rocking, white noise, holding until he slept ect which is sounds like you have tried.

There maybe something bothering him, it can either be a tummy issue or teething which is keeping him so fussy. Then add that into the mix of being over tired you got yourself a cranky pants.

You can try the Camilla teething soothing drops, see if those calm him down as well.

Another thing that helped me get him to stay asleep in his crib. Was heating it up with a heating pad before I put him in, then make sure of course to take the heating pad out. LO now transfers into a warm and cozy bed. I know it’s exhausting, your doing a great job mama don’t give up. Also if u get overwhelmed it’s ok to walk away for 2 minutes to breath

My girl did the same around that age she’s 9 months now . Maximize your babies wake time by doing lots of floor play etc so they get nice and tired out for a nap, all lights out , blacked out curtains and some white noise and some lavender oil in a diffuser did the trick every time . Try to stay in a routine with it 🩷

Newborn sleep

Anyone else having trouble with getting their 5 week old to sleep? Shes up for 3-4hrs at a time once or twice a day. Through this period she’s almost going off multiple times but wakes herself up, I assume as she’s overtired. I try to get her down when I see tiredness cues but it’s not working. When she does fall asleep, I can’t put her down as she wakes up and we start the crying, constantly feeding, drifting off cycle again. She doesn’t go to sleep in the pram and the car is 50/50, I’ve also tried a baby wrap but again no luck. Even feeding isn’t a guarantee that she will drift off if she’s been up for a long time. My husband is back in the office next week so I will have my 3yr & baby on my own twice a week. I don’t know how to cope with them both when I’m tied to the sofa feeding or keeping my baby asleep. Any help or guidance would be really appreciated. Thank you

Baby carrier

Can anyone recommend a baby carrier for my almost 4 month old?

I have an Infantino one but it has so many straps and he doesn’t seem to like it!

Thanks

Naps?

My LO is 3 months old and she is sleeping through the night (9pm/10pm - 6am/7am)

However, health professionals are asking about her nap times. We dont monitor her naps at all, we just let her sleep when she wants too - is this right?

Just curious what others do?

Jolly Jumper

How serious is the 15 minute rule for the Jolly Jumper? I feel like she could jump for an hour and have the best time

4 month regression

Hey

My little girl who is now 5 months old is going through a sleep regression and I’ve noticed changes in her night sleep massively.

I just wondered whether anyone else is going through this right now and finding their little one is still waking up after 45 mins and needing you to rock them back to sleep?

She’s used to having a dummy and going into the cot drowsy but awake, so it’d as soon as her dummy falls out she wakes 😩 (this is during the day) but night time she’s waking up frequently for her dummy. I’m exhausted and feel there’s no end in sight! I never experienced this with my first born (a boy).
