Hey, just wonder if anyone has had any experience with quick weight gain and leaps up the percentile chart before and how they went about feeding with their LO
For context, my LO is almost 7 months old and we began weaning at 5 1/2 months old as she was showing all the signs she was ready for food. Weaning has been a messy but successful transition with her happily taking 3 meals in a day. She has wanted less bottles but with teething sometimes she will have a bottle instead of food as she is looking for comfort.
I've had a health visitor app (on the phone as they couldn't attend the day we had planned) they advised us to just continue how we are going if she's happy with what is offered and I just look for cues she's hungry then she'll be getting what she needs and can manage.
She was last weighed by a health visitor in May where she was on trend of her percentile but I fear since the weaning we have just been climbing as I have weighed her at home the last 2 months and both months she's had a 2lb gain, this month was almost 3lbs. I know once she's more mobile she'll be burning off the rolls and this isn't me thinking she is chunky it's I just want to be good by her and make sure I'm keeping her healthy. I phoned a health visitor on Friday and she seemed concerned there is a big jump in weight and she's now gone from the 50th centile to nearly 91st.
She's always been baby led fed so when it comes to dropping bottle feeds I've been so confused other than around meal times in what to do and I also just want to make sure she's getting everything she needs. Would she need to be on vitamins if her feed is now mainly food
Any advice or help I will be truly grateful for, it will help me ease my anxiety and mum guilt so thank you
A messy weaning pic from our days out for interest

Honestly I would keep doing what your doing. In terms of vitamins if your little one is having less then 500mls of formula then I would add a vitamin in.

Yes been through this exactly. She was born 91st centile, dropped to 50th & followed that until weening. She didn't crawl until 10 months so that sitting potato phase of food plus formula & limited ability to burn it off, she was putting on 100-150g Every Week. I was constantly on the phone to health visitors worried about her weight. I had to limit portions to sizes appropriate for her age and cut bottles in favour of meals or she'd just be eating too much. I can't really remember now but I think it was if they have less than 900ml formula in a day they need a vitamin supplement. We had one (wellbaby) that she had to take in 2 doses, we rang health visitors because by the time we knew she'd had less it was too late to give her one that morning & at bedtime. They told us to just give it anyway & we're covered if she gets less & not stress if she gets slightly more vitamins. She's 4 now & fine.
Her record was 250g gained in 1 week!
My in laws are very involved in my child's life, its a lovely problem to have i guess but sometimes I feel like my MIL oversteps and takes firsts away from me. This weekend we've gone for our first family holiday with my 9 month old and they've come with us, we mentioned we wanted to buy a baby walker and she's gone off and bought one without asking or telling us first.
Her first time at the beach and she was there and strolled off with her before I got chance to. Our first time with her on the swings and she's just...there.
Same as giving her ice cream/foods/sweets whatever, she just gives it to her without asking. Idk if I'm overreacting or I feel like a bit pushed out. She's my daughter and I just wanted to do some firsts with her myself. Not sure if I'm being mean and should just get over it. How would you approach it?

Our cat, 14 years, is sick, he went to the vet 3 times last week and turns out he has pancreatitis. He doesn’t eat or drink.
The vet visits easily cost 1000 pounds. And we can’t really keep paying massive vet bills.
We have a 20 month old, and I’m 8 weeks pregnant. I just don’t have the mental capacity to deal with this. I want the the cat to live several more years, and our 20 month old loves him.
But with him just not eating and with vet bills I just feel like we should put him down.
We had 2 cats and put the previous down a month before our daughter was born, at that point he probably wouldn’t have lasted out the month anyway, and I felt we should have put him down earlier.
But our remaining cat isn’t as bad as our old one I just don’t want to deal with it, and I feel bad!
Am I horrible?

I’m getting really close to saying f this relationship over money. I’m with my kids dad. We have two. He is extremely spoiled. I peeped that a long time ago. He does not like to pay bills. I make less than him but I still end up paying the majority of the bills. Like say rent for the month of August was $1100 (it’s going to be $1700 next month but we’re on a move in special that ended this month). The phone bill was due $220. I had to pay my car note car insurance and light bill. All of those were about $200 as well. This man sent me $500 which I’m only factoring into the household bills not my own bills for my car. On top of paying bills I always buy groceries. He never does. He might buy like snacks for the kids after school but no food to make meals. I feel like I’m being crushed financially and he’s getting to put money up!

I’m booked in for an induction on Wednesday, my partner is superrr happy & excited whereas I’m more quiet because I’m nervous about what I’m going to have to go through. I explained to him that I’m actually not that scared about the pain (because either path we take is painful) I’m actually just more worried about spending 5+ days in the hospital being bored to death & being told there’s no progress. And he responded with “yeah but it’s fine, I can leave and get you stuff, I can get you clean clothes & food” (this wasn’t related to my worries at all) I replied back with “but I just wish I was the one who could go home & do some laundry, sleep in our own bed & see our dog”🥺he then responded with “no matter what I do for you, it’s not enough”. I feel like he’s just missed the entire point? I never said what he’s doing isn’t enough. I said I just wish I could be the one with the freedom & feel the excitement. Rather than having to stare at a hospital curtain for 120+ hours to be told you’re still not dilating🤣 I feel like he’s not being very understanding which is upsetting me more
