PPD

i’m 19 with a 9 month old girl who actually just turned 9 months today! i haven’t been back to work yet because i’ve been struggling extremely with postpartum depression, anxiety, and rage . i want to work to help my boyfriend out with finances but we also don’t have much people to watch her. i don’t know what to do. it’s hard to find a job, it’s hard to make money. but he’s extremely sweet with everything and the nicest person i’ve ever met. ANY ideas?

Happy 9 months to baby girl! Postpartum can be hard to navigate and childcare even worse. What are you doing to help heal your PPD and other mood disorders?

I was also 19 with my 1st. We didn't have much help either & chose not to do daycare. What worked for us back then was that he worked full time in the mornings/day & I worked retail part time in the evenings from about 5/6-10/11. It got hard at times because sometimes it felt like we barely saw each other, but we were very intentional with our quality time we did have together & did what we could at home/with our oldest as far as date nihts go. It was hard for me when we first moved in together & after we had her to deal with feeling like a burden if I wasn't contributing as much, but he never made me feel guilty about & I just gave what I could. We continued those work schedule after my 2nd, until after I had my youngest. Fast forward 16 years & he's successful in his career & travels pretty often & I've been a SAHM for 5 years now. I don't feel guilty about it anymore because we both know me staying home has helped him get to where he is & there's a huge mutual appreciation for each other. --->continued

Get on an anti depressant quick and stay home with your baby for as long as you can! trust me I have three little ones and the one thing I regret is trying to work a little, I stressed so much about trying to find work & making more money… I became happy with less and I finally feel like I have more 🌸💕
focus on putting all your time and energy into the home and into the family :) learn how to care for your self and find cozy hobbies that fill your cup ☀️some have to work/want to pursue a career and can do it and they do fine but it’s hard and it’s more stressful for others … my advice is find ways to save money, make a garden, master different kitchen skills, learn how to make bread…crochet, anything that peaks your interest! there’s so much to learn and grow with at home! :) shop more frugal & find good deals… maybe shop second hand … kids are only little til age four then they start to transition into young kids… enjoy the little years mama 💕 your doing great!

I’d try doing Uber Eats or door dashing. I’m a single mom of twins and that’s what I do. They’re 10 months 7 months corrected.

Condoms

Does anyone wear condoms with their husband? I personally don’t and just curious if there are married couples out there who do.

These four walls 😵‍💫

I’m so ready to start working again, partly because I’m struggling rn but I don’t think I could be a SAHM because I like to be able to not only get a break but also keep busy other than just taking care of baby GOD knows I love her so much, so I guess that’s a pro & con that I’m single mom I guess because currently I’ve been SAHM & surviving by the grace of god 😭 BUT IM SO READY TO GET OUT THIS HOUSE & PPD DONT make it any better.

Anyone finding this age the most difficult so far 🫠

Sometimes I love this age, they’re developing their little personalities, playing more, starting to talk, walk, can understand some things I say now but my god I feel drained a lot of the time. It’s the constant whining for my attention, the tantrums, the still waking a few times a night, meal times are now more difficult and one day will be eaten the next thrown across the room 😫. I don’t think it helps I’m on my own and live alone. Feel guilty as I’ve raised my voice a couple of times this week at my girl I’m just finding her so demanding at the moment 😫 anyone feel the same?
