When I got married, I definitely preferred things from our registry that we needed. However, the veggie chopper we received that wasn't on it is amazing, and we also really appreciated gift cards to different restaurants. It could be fun if you made them like a date night basket or something!

I akways get couples something personalized with their last name. When I was newly married I LOVED seeing my new last name and being a Mrs. Everyone on my husband's side of the family called me Mrs and then my last name for like 6 months after I got married. I got my brother and his wife a Mr and Mrs hanger thing for coats. I got my sister a nice cutting board with her new last name on it. Lots of ideas.
My favorite gift was a date night wallet. There were like 6 gift cards with $20 on them. Some were to like Chipotle or DQ and some were like to cracker barrel or Applebee's. The point was to be intentional about putting money in it so when you went out you didn't have to make sure the money was in your account. Like my husband and i just checked it last week and it had $280. We used some for a date night for my birthday.

Hey for our wedding my husband's brother got us a weekend away. We stayed at an amazing hotel that was a couple of hours from where we lived, he got us a room where we could bring our dogs. There was a hot tub and fancy restaurant, plus heaps of hiking trails all around. Basically all the luxury stuff my husband and I enjoy doing together in one place...it was definitely one of our favorite gifts, because of how thoughtful it was.
