Anyone else’s little one now refusing to get dressed and go out?? Or has been through this stage lately? I’m a single mum and don’t drive so need to go out 2-3 times a week for fresh food. It’s now getting ridiculous and I’m having to spend more money a week to get it delivered (also only having a day or two to eat it before it goes off)
It’s back to nursery next week and I’m just dreading it. I’m bribing him with new toys/chocolate/ice cream and that’s not even working.
(If your LO likes going out please don’t comment)
Please don’t say I’m the only one 😩

My daughter is 9,so a bit older, but she is like this. She just wants to be home chilling, getting dressed in the morning, school or trips or shopping,it's a nightmare.....so stressful

Could you just take them out in their pjs and see what happens? Not like it's a punishment, just like a natural consequence but make it unappealing to be wearing the pjs in public.
If you don't want to put your clothes on for the day then you will have to wear your pyjamas outside. Oh you're chilly/have cold feet/got wet cause you're not wearing a coat/look silly in pjs? Well yes that is why pjs are only for sleeping, would you like some proper clothes instead 😂
Could help with the clothes situation but I guess you'd still have to get him out the door

We went through this for around a month or so. Every time we had to leave the house/ get dressed it was a HUGE meltdown. We pushed through and said we need to leave the house and we need clothes and got him dressed with a huge battle. The phase passed and he’s fine again now.
My advice would be push through, you’re the parent and if you need to go out then they need to come with you.
We found options helped somewhat. Do you want the blue shoes or the red ones? Do you want to go now or after your snack etc etc x

My LB will refuse to go out and blow full tantrums if we do tell him we are. The only way to get him out sometimes is to say "ok, bye bye" then walk out and start opening the car doors. He will then panic he is being left alone and run after us, but still crying and refusing to go out.
We then also have the problem of when he is home and bored/upset with us all he wants to do is go to Granny and Papa's house, but then once there all he wants to do is go home again.
We have found that sometimes we can get him out by saying ok "no cookies/lollies for the rest of the day" but this doesnt always work. It helps that my boys is a very sugary food motivated child.

Yes we’ve been dealing with this for the past 4-5 months and it’s just starting to improve.
We’ve used all the tactics - Telling him he can pick a treat (something fairly small like smarties for example, then let him chose one colour) but he has to get dressed first and I find it helps sometimes doing it right by the door or somewhere he can’t easily escape 😅
Have also tried just leaving and saying ‘ok mummy’s going to have fun finding the sticks, going to the park, etc’ which occasionally works. But there are times where we have had to just put the clothes on him and get him in the pram while he has a full meltdown 🤪 which isn’t fun for anyone but sometimes you just have to leave the house.
These days he’ll moan a little but I try to talk about all the fun things we’ll do outside. It’s hard! Very normal for this age. Hope the phase is over for you soon x

My mum has been asking me for quite a while to come to Dublin from UK and stay with her around the time I have my baby. I was actually reluctant to come because I’ve always felt her house is far too cluttered. Every time I visit, I somehow end up trying to organise things, move things around and help her clean.
Eventually I agreed because she’s my mum, she really wanted me here, and I thought it would be nice to have her support when I have my baby.
Before coming, though, I made it clear that the bedroom I would be staying in needed to be properly decluttered and cleaned. I’m now 36 weeks pregnant and the room is still full of stacked suitcases, boxes, bags, clothes and stored belongings. It’s not just the bedroom either — there’s clutter throughout the house and areas that I don’t feel are properly clean.
I’ve tried explaining that I’m not expecting a show home. I just need a genuinely clean, hygienic and uncluttered environment to recover in and bring my newborn into. I want the stored belongings removed from the bedroom so the entire room can actually be deep cleaned underneath and behind everything, with clear floors and a safe, clean area for the baby’s cot.
What is upsetting me most is that she was the one who kept asking me to come and stay with her, despite me having concerns about the house from the beginning. I told her months ago what needed to be done, but whenever I bring it up now, I feel like she shuts me down or doesn’t understand how serious it is for me.
Unfortunately my lil brother is the more useless person as he doesn’t help at all! Even the stairs is dirty. Kitchen and living room cluttered!
What would you do? Would you insist that the room is completely cleared and deep cleaned before coming back with your newborn, or would you just arrange somewhere else to stay? And am I being unreasonable for being this upset about it?

I’m 38 weeks and got broke up with yesterday, I feel utterly broken and I’ve already been struggling being really depressed throughout the entire pregnancy and now I am in the trenches and don’t know what to do. I have no friends and only my mum n dad and don’t drive, no access to do stuff by myself and I feel so utterly alone and don’t know what to do. He’s left me cause he says I’ve been verbally overwhelming and mean, I have been, I’ve been so sad and miserable and in so much pain I’ve got myself so frustrated with everyone and everything and now I feel I’ve ruined everything. I just need to vent and I need advice I don’t know what to do, I’m terrified and I have to do labour alone and the only person I want to hold me I can’t even cause he hates me. I am broken

I'm up late thinking what would be appropriate. I choose to go commando when I was maybe 25 and I thought what if my daughter wants to go commando because one day she will notice I don't wear underwear? She's 9 now

Is anyone else’s little still not toilet trained? He turned 4 at the beginning of this month and he’s just not getting it at all. He knows when he’s done a wee or poo but always tells us after not before.
We’ve tried absolutely everything, books, timers, training pants, no bottoms, rewards etc
He starts reception in just over a week and I am so stressed about it
I have 2 other children under 3 and I’m also 27 weeks pregnant with our 4th and final child and it’s just getting way too much to handle
I feel like everything else has clicked and runs smoothly like bedtime/naps/food etc he even had a completely smooth transition to no dummy’s at all and he sleeps fine all the way through at night in his own bed and everything
It’s literally just this one thing that seems to be impossible
