I just wanted to share what’s been happening with me and just how incredible our bodies and doctors are.
On the 7th August I had an early pregnancy scan at the EPAU due to spotting. At the scan they found I had a 10cm ovarian cyst on my left side but most importantly baby had a strong heartbeat and measured 6 weeks.
Fast forward to 20th August, I woke up with severe abdominal pain. I have never ever felt pain like that in my life and I’ve had 1 previous pregnancy. I was rushed to emergency gynae and arrive at 8:30am where they called consultants, doctors and anaesthetists. By 10:30am I was in theatre having emergency surgery to save my ovary. It turned out I had a 15cm cyst on my right side that had twisted my ovary 4 times turning it blue. The surgeon untwisted it and restored blood flow, removed the cyst and I was put back together and then an inpatient until yesterday.
During my stay, they organised for another scan and there was still a heartbeat!! How incredible!! I was put under general anaesthetic, operated on and the tiny little bub is still safe. They’ve organised another reassurance scan for 2 weeks and then my dating scan is 2 weeks after that. I would never have known about the cyst if it hadn’t have been for this tiny little bub and the early pregnancy unit.
Thank god for the NHS and the incredible people they have❤️

Firstly I am so glad you’re ok! That sounds so scary! And the fact baby is ok! They must be super comfy in their little home 💙 - wishing you all the best!

Really glad you and the little on are ok 🫶

So glad to hear you and baby are ok, what a whirlwind! 💓
I’ve been told if I’ve got reduced movements to go in but they never say how long they have to be reduced for
I couldn’t make it there the other day and the next day it went back to normal but he’s got a tendency to go a day without moving at all and then going crazy the next day

I slept for 3 hours at home the night before my induction purely because I was so anxious. They was delayed all day so I wasn’t allowed in until late last night. I had finished the pessary + all my monitoring by 2am, woke up with cramps at 4am then woken up for my observations at 6am. So barely slept for 2 nights in a row now. Everyone keeps saying I need to get as much energy as I can for birth but it’s pretty impossible when I’m in pain very close together & in a room full of people. I’m so worried I will be too tired and won’t be able to do this😩

After having a c-section I’ve been left with an over hanging pouch which I find disgusting and is making me feel really depressed. Does this go or does it stay? If so any tips to get rid? Used a belly band but no difference. 😭😭

Genuinely interested in what other mum's days look like while on maternity leave. I spend some time cleaning, laundry, doing bottles steralising etc. I break the day up with preparing lunch, maybe a walk but I do spend a lot of time at home with the TV on sometimes it just goes on to the screensaver because I get bored. Sometimes when baby is having a bad day and we're both tired I have put on sensory baby videos or animated book stories like the hungry caterpillar on YouTube on the TV for baby. It is a rare occasion of course but wondering how your days look. What does baby do all day and what do you do? I think it's easy to start questioning how you are doing things when life can be quite isolating at this stage.

If you have a toddler and soon to give birth to a baby.....
I'm worried that my toddler will feel less important or like the baby is getting the attention etc.
I want to make sure she feels Included as much as possible and not like she's being replaced.
I think she will be an amazing big sister. But thinking what can I do to make sure she never questions my love for her....
Are you worried about the adjustment period 2.
